would they be good in 3g bags iv never used 5g idk if its a big difference

Your gonna hand water a 6000w grow? Are you fucking mental?

If you work for a living, you may have to retire to take care of your plants.

I would advise hydro for this size.

All the pros favor 600's...
Not even close. ;)

FWIW, I water by hand (Pro-Mix in 2gal pots). The watering, itself, takes about an hour every 24 hours for a garden similar to the one described. I've considered running in water over the years, but I don't know as much about it, have no real experience working with it, and this isn't a hobby.

For me it's all about MY TIME. If you have a family and want to spend time with them hydro is worth it. Like you said SimonD the watering takes an hour every 24 but that doesn't include training pruning etc the general maintainence that also takes time. If its not res change day in my garden I spend about 5 mins in my garden each 24hour period to test pH and EC and look at plant reactions etc. Res changes and H2o2 cleaning takes around 2 hours once a fortnight.

So that's 3hours 15mins a fortnight I spend tending to my garden. Granted i only grow 4 plants under 1 600w but a single res can run anywhere up to 60 or so plants.

However I would add that i grow for myself

As long as you're aware.

So what strain are you planning on running?

I have a 7.5' x 9' room that I had 2 1000s in. (It was originally designed for 4 lights) They couldn't quite give me the coverage I wanted, really just 1 side needed a bit more light... so I tried 4 600's... I didn't like it at all. The 4 600s couldn't give the coverage I wanted after lowering them close enough to get the same intensity on the plants as a 1000. you end up with the areas between the lights not getting enough light...

So I switched back to the 1000's with 2 600's on the one side that didn't quite get enough light... works fantastic. But truthfully 4 1000's would be even better, I just don't want to pull that much juice.

1000's allow you to raise the lights higher and get better coverage and much more intensity in my experience.. once you lower a 600 enough for the same intensity as a 1000 you can barely fit 2 plants under it.. if you try more plants than that, they don't get as much light. you can easily get great light coverage to 4 plants with good intensity with 1 1000. so twice as many plants as a 600 IMO.

You might think about buying switchable ballasts so you can switch to 1000's if the 600's aren't bright enough for you. for your size room I think you would need 9 600s, or just 4 1000's... 10 x 10 would be pushing it for 4 1000s but I think you could do it... it's a little too big, but only by about 1 foot on each side....
