600W Darkroom - Sour Diesel & G13

yeah...in a perpetual 4 tier octagon set up with a bulb per tier (giving you either 2400W or 4000W total) where the plants start out at the top and move down a tier every 2 weeks you could have a uv-b as the bottom bulb...tons of non stop super frosty bud and you dont have to worry about loss in yield because you always have shit finishing up and drying...
ok...today is day 52 of flowering...watered and trimmed off the dead fan leaves yesterday...
gals are looking good...the 2 purple imposters (found out they were Purple Kush!!!) look like theyre ready to come out now, but im gonna flush them once more (either tomorrow or thursday) before chopping (may give them a 48 hour dark period starting sunday...any of you do this before you cut?)...ended up holding off on giving them the uv-b treatment because i didnt want to have to go buy another ballast just yet...

pistils are almost all amber..what do you guys think?
i also took out a nice Sour D girl still got at least 2 and a half weeks to go:
hope you all enjoyed...this is probably the last time you guys will see the Purple Kush plants...the next pic will be of them chopped...the G13 is supposed to be a 6-7 week flowering plant but i may leave her past 8 weeks...she has a ton of white hairs still coming through and has barely any amber hair...the SDs have a couple more weeks to go more sure...

havent whipped out the trich scope...got hit with a bad case of the "lazys" this last week
the 2 purple kushs have almost no white hairs whatsoever but the G13 & SDs have a bunch...SDs supposed to take 10 weeks to fully finish so im not so worried about those white hairs, theyll amber up with the trichs soon enough
another wrench got thrown into my future plans though...got introduced to a volksgarden and am giving serious consideration to picking one up..
vertical tent or tented volksgarden?
yeah...i actually saw the volksgarden's before i started seeing vertical grows...been fiending for one for awhile but hadnt seen any herb grown in them...a member here is doing a journal with one now and it looks like it may be a little more cost & labor efficient then building a vert grow...
volksgarden, res, 1000W bulb, & 1000 ballast - about $2600
DIY vert apparatus, 3x 1000W bulb, 3x 1000W ballast, hydro stuff & another tent...plus all the labor - about $3500
to get the pertetual vertical grow we've been talking about going its gonna cost more time, space, & most importantly money IMO...however i'll be able to use a little more of my grow knowledge then with this automated thing where i could lose a whole crop because of inexperience
dangerous game being played here....
we'll see how i feel once i harvest

that thing is fucking crazy...amazing...he's gonna get crazy huge crops...that thing is godly...i'll more then likely still go with the vert set up, just getting hit from all angles with new ideas lol...gotta get this crop harvested first before anything else gets started

ya he is the godfather of vert.. that setup is gonna do some WICKED numbers.. i am going to do a spinoff of that setup, but with an extra row or 2, a few more plants, and run 2k in it.. do another one right next to it and run em 4 weeks apart... sickness.
i would def. say go vertical.. volks just doesnt have the space to maximize the lights potential in my opinion

the light isnt doing the setup justice IMO...meh...he'd know better then i would

he uses 600s cuz they are the most efficient.. and i do agree, if i were him i would def. throw in at least 1200, but he does know what he is doing.. i think he does the single 600w setups to try and have a better gauge of gpw ratio over a period of time with different setups but hey i donno lol..

dude i just gotta say that picture with the plant with its leaves curled looks badass dude you should submit that to hightimes or some shit. the first one thats outside....really thats badass +rep
thanks man...both of the Purple Kush's came out last yesterday...one was 56g wet & the other was 58.5 wet...i broke my own rule and tried a sample last night (i usually wait till its fully dried and cured at least a week)...2 bowls put me on my ass...woke up this morning with the bubbler spilt all over my chest & the lighter still in my hand from passing out during bowl #3 (im sure the previous 40 hours of being up without sleeping had something to do with it though)
todays day 55...the remaining plants got fed yesterday and are off to a good start...discovered a small gnat infestation yesterday so i got some sticky bug strips and put out a saucer of beer that's been collecting them pretty well since last night...if the problem continues, i'll go buy some sand to keep the larvae from getting to the surface & more bug strips to collect the adults

I have read alot of diff things on the black little gnats. Have you experienced anything bad from the little buggars if they are your only pest? Just curious- thanks.
