I haven't done it yet, but supposedly it's fine. I believe you can give the 12-18 hours of light a day. 18 would get you the best results obviously.

Once I get my indoor setup done I plan on giving growing strawberries a crack at it. I would do 24/0 though with CFLs

Im curious to see how they do once the harvest is done. They are a perineal (spelling?) meaning they go dormant in the winter which is triggered by less light as well as a drop in tmperatures IDK if it would screw up their internal clock to keept em on 18/6.... just thinking out loud. You could always just throw the container in your garage over the winter untill spring and then give it a little nutes and light again and it'll come back nice. Another thing I recommend with strawberries is plucking the flowers your first year, you wont' get any strawberries but you will get some nice runners which will set you up for a bountyfull harvest the following year.

Are you looking at June bearing or everbearing?

Bear in mind, your 2-year old plants normally produce more fruit, so you sort-of have to keep it sort of on-going. Mother-fruiters-young uns.
