600W HPS + MH (trusted name brands)

Just needing some advice, getting ready to order a light system but have been reading some bad reviews. If some of you could link me to a 600w hps + mh light kit or throw out some trusted name brands it would help point me in the right direction. I just don't want to buy something that's gonna blow bulbs on a regular basis.

Also, while I'm asking questions is there a need to PH your filtered tap water to a certain level when watering soil if you're using ocean forest??

if your looking for name brand and is a great product look at lumatek or quantum. I will tell you that there are some great reviews for nextgen products. Let me tell you this first i recently ordered one the 600/400 and all three that they sent me were bad. Three weeks later i went back to lumatek.

Now that being said i have ran some other ballasts that were a little cheaper that were good products. But in time you always get what you pay for. i would use digital ballast and not magnetic. As of right now i use lumatek products and ggp both 600. with cap xxxl hoods digilux bulbs/sunmaster. before i used hortilux good products too

sorry didnt realize the second part. yeah. you will probably need to ph your water. i highly doubt its within range. youre definitely gonna need to once you add your nutes. oakton make a great ph meter at a decent price

depends on what kinda of medium i am growing in. soil i like to keep at 6.3 soiless hydro i like to keep at 5.5-5.6 depending on my nutes some times lower at like 5.2..some of them like to make my ph rise

Cool, I was talking about soil. Just curious, say I used MG soil, would I need to adjust the ph of my water a bit higher?
