I only say this because I look at that HPS grow, and it looks pretty pitiful. They could have gotten so much more out of that plant. So when I think of that, I can't help but look at the others and wonder what their results might have been had they grown them more appropriately. I mean, we are already splitting hairs on the lighting, right? But no one splits hairs on methods. Both I think have a very significant impact on the final result, and the method is free.

If they were grown start to finish with those lights, it's kind of already skewed because no one that grows with hid (and knows what they are doing) vegges with a HPS, they use a MH. They do this to capture both benefits of each bulb's spectrum at different times of the plant's life. Right off the bat there is a major discrepancy when simply comparing lights. It always seems to be a battle of flowering, but your vegging is equally important, at least IMO. I would never veg with a HPS.

So to take one gas bulb and compare it to a full spectrum LED when the bulb being tested isn't the only bulb normally used by growers using hid, is not really a comparison.
