This is the exact reason I don't buy from them places, everything seems like a cheap bargain until you see the customs charges then you think what was the point.
Couple of month? My alibaba orders use DHL Express as carrier and arrive 4 days after shipment which includes customs clearance. I pay the fees to DHL Express when they send a invoice.Has anyone else had any issues with vat, import tax etc when buying through alibaba?
A couple of months ago I bought a led from alibaba, a few days ago I received a letter saying that I've got £61 to pay FedEx ???
How do I stand?
I actually love that this is a option. Some years ago u had to wait for the mail for custom clearance, pay up, and then they forwarded it. Added about a week on everything that needed taxing...Couple of month? My alibaba orders use DHL Express as carrier and arrive 4 days after shipment which includes customs clearance. I don't order anything from anywhere that includes customs tax. This doesn't only apply to alibaba or "them places", it's just duty tax. Yes it sucks but its not like its hidden. Can't remember once I didn't have to pay up..
You say it's not hidden but the seller don't tell you how much it will be and the buyer don't have a clue so yh it is kinda hidden. I know about customs charges but never amounts for specific things. I only buy from my own country because I'm impatient and don't want to wait months for something that also has a hefty charge added to it.This doesn't only apply to alibaba or "them places", it's just duty tax. How much was the item, did you pay import tax on it already?Has anyone else had any issues with vat, import tax etc when buying through alibaba?

More often than not it’s to do with value of order. This is what I was trying to say in another thread and used my silver rizlas as an analogy, they used to be 5 for a £1 at bargain store, now 3 for a £1, so watch out cuz of this brexshit shiz, people will be getting stung especcially when they order rizla online and it comes from china and you thought it was local
No it isn't, it was the same before Brexit. Its cos brexit i supect
