6500k daylight Fluorescent t12's Reply Dont Just View

Hey all, Im sure some of you are using or have used them! Please give me insight, I am slightly interested giving them a shot. I would only have a few questions about the 48" 40w 2180 Lumen tubes.. THANKS!

How many tubes per plant?
How high above the plants should the tubes be?
Would the tubes produce more airy non dense buddz?
Would having only the tubes above the plant, and nothing on the sides be significant amount of light for growth?

2-4 Would be sufficient.

Within a few inches.

Not necessarily. Depending on how much light you can provide, the buds will be more dense.

Absolutely not. Side lighting is important, ESPECIALLY when you are using these tubes to grow.

LOL thanks. Your right I haven't really contributed.. It is just annoying seeing so many views with not one reply. I want to use the four tubes for clones. I would like to see if they would give sufficient lighting to flower clones, and try and get small batches on the side durring other grows... So just seeing if it is enough. THANKS again for taking the time to help me with noob questions...We all start somewhere

You should definitely check out the grow faq... Contains tons of wonderful information. I even go back to it every once in a while

I use T-12's to veg. They work good for about 4 weeks veg. Then the plants are to tall and the lightonly reaches the tops, and the middle and bottom start to suffer. I put 4 plants under 2 T-12's. You can top or do LST to maximixe the time spent under T-12 before they become to big. You can have (and actually want) your plants touching the bulbs. Thats how close you want them. I have to raise the lights or lower the plants everyday. If you dont keep them close enough, they will stretch and outgrown the flouro tubes in a week or 2.
You don't' want to flower with them though. You REALLY dont! Get some CFL's for flowering. They work AWESOME! 10 times better than flouro tubes and they are cheap. You really have no excuse to flower with tubes alone. Check out my first grow and see how I used my T-12's and how they grew. There are a ton of pics.

Views without replys are a good thing. It means people are looking at it and saying I don't know about that, instead of just guessing. It can also mean the question was poorly stated or as sometimes, not even readable. The OP was understandable just impatient.

or it means that these questions have been answerd.. go to Newbie Central if you need to know the basic questions about lights you probably dont know much about growing and will need to ask more questions so just read alittle and learn alot

keep in mind that some of or most of the view were prob from other newbies to that really couldnt answer your question but yea read around forums more. wasnt really hard to answer how far away should lights be question. its on like every forum with people tellin you how far they keep there lights and what not. anyway good luck with your grow.

Thanks, I am actually trying to just do a mini grow aside from my other. Just for the heck of it. A small project you can say, to see what the little tikes no taller then 15 inches will produce..

well....with floros, you dont pack much luminens. which equals tasty nugg at the end of it all, for a short answer. and patience is needed. for growing, and posting threads. LOL.
plants that are under two feet tall IMO, are not worth the grow. but....i dont like to waste my time any plant, big or small, is still beautiful.

i use cfls and i put four for one
they should be 1 to 2 inches away
and no it just depends on the strain sum strains do and sum dont make dense buds
and im not sure its always better to have more

Right now I am about to start week 3 of veg. Only two plants are under 10 23w 6500k 1600lum cfls and 4 40w 6500k 2180lum t12's, and I am actually thinking of removing a few Cfls, or should I leave them all? In maybe 2 weeks or so Ill be switching in with all 2700k cfls. As far as the other thing goes....I just have an extra shop light for 2 t12's. And I figure why not go for the mini plants..Its only running me 80watts and its an experiment. 7-9 plants no taller then 1 1/4 foot flowered. Shouldn't expect over and 1/8 each but I just want to see if it will work. Boredom and spare time I guess... any thoughts?

how many watts fir them cfl's in one plant??? and is it doing good, just need some info.

I use 4 40w 4ft t12’s 6500k about 4 inches above clones/seedlings for 1-3 weeks then I switch over to my 600w mh for a few more weeks and then in goes my 600w hps bulb and I’ve had great success with awesome yields. But t12’s are fine for first few weeks plants will definitely grow nicely imo...shiiiiit threads mad old ow well I’m sure someone will see this and help lmfao
