I mean, I'd hit up eBay if I was you. I got all of my 600w lumatek ballists for around $50 each.

Why pay more? Resell value is a fraction of retail price.

That's a boost feature. You'd use it on an older bulb to try and get back some performance.

Only getting one ballast though I figure the warranty is worth spending a little more. need a decent hood but can probably get one secondhand fairly safely

Warranties are a joke imo. It's faster to buy a new one... On eBay for $50... Lol. I run three second hand off eBay and haven't had a single problem with any of them. And then I have a few extra sitting around from previous grows I may just sell or trade for credit at the local shop.

Otherwise your waiting around for a month with no light on your plant while the ballast is shipped off for repair. I'd buy two and keep one for backup and still spend half as much as a new one costs.

Imagine id be safe with the phantom and a cheap lumatek or solistek for backup.
