Generally speaking, harvest at 6 weeks is not ideal for good smoke. I count the start of the flowering period from the day I switch to 12/12, which I'm sure most others do as well.

Check the trichs for coloring. You're looking for about half to be amber but you need a magnifying glass to see them well. If the trichs look good, then i'd say chop her down... some strains do have an amazingly short at flowering periods.

DONT CHOP HER! impatient bastard.
1:flowering period begins at first sign of pistills during 12/12(if ur plant was mature when u switched to 12/12 that was the start of flowering.if it took 2 weeks to show sex thats the start of your flowering.)
2:your yield will double in the next 2 weeks.you will shit yourself when u see them bitched swell and get FROSTY!
3:get a damn magnifying glass and dont lie to yourself the trichs are not amber!i dont need a damn pic and if they are its from u touching the bud!IGNORE THE HAIRS.
my first 2 grow yields were pathetic even though they looked amazing.i cut them short.6weeks 3 days. yielded 23 Gs pre plant .clone with the same veg time and nutes and what not flowered 9 weeks yielded 43 grams.chill out man go buy some swag!

it depends, was it mature when put into flowering? if so i count it from the first day of 12/12, Though it may take the plant 3-4 days to show it after the first long night the process starts. If flipped to 12/12 before mature go from the day you could for sure tell the sex as the beggining.

How you start counting flowering time is irrelevant. Check your trichomes, if they are where you want them to be chop, if not wait and keep checking.

theres no way your shits ready in just 5 weeks man. I say 5 weeks.. because your asking if its possible if your plant could be ready to harvest at the beginning of week #6 of flowering.

The answer is NO. period.

There are some short flowering strains out there.. I think the shortest one I've seen, was something like 42 days I think.. and that's just an estimate.. considering that the plant's environment is absolutely perfect.

The quickest strain that I've personally seen (not grown) but seen.. was a buddy of mines plant. I forget the strain, but it actually finished right at around 47 days of flowering... which is quick for cannabis... hell that's quick for ANY cannabis strain. Most strains, typically take between as little as 8 weeks to mature.. and then there are some strains (Sativa dominant) that can take anywhere from 10 weeks all the way up to 14 weeks to fully mature. Just depends on the genetics of the plant.. and the plants environment that its grown in.

But, I highly doubt yours is ready at the end of week #5. Actually, I can guarantee you that its not ready. There's just no way that the plant has had enough time to fully ripen or mature.. not just 5 weeks that is.

anyhow, hopefully that helped you understand that your plant is in no way ready to harvest.

good luck

peace.

flowering starts as soon as u switch to 12/12, and if i was u i wouldnt harvest at 6 weeks they are going to gain size and wieght in those last 2 weeks. My cheese plants are nearly 7 weeks and have about 2oz per plant up to now.

My Jack The Rippers usually finish a week ahead of schedule at around week 7. However, I typically just let them go till week 8 because I have other stuff that takes longer and the flower room won't be available for new clones to be put in anyway. I'd say it's possible but pretty unlikely. Like everyone else said get a magnifying glass or a jewelers loop and check the trichs. Whatever you do you don't wanna harvest prematurely or you're gonna be sorry.

Beginning of week 6, like said, not ready. Get that scope and start checkin' trichs. I feel ya on wondering though, i just recently went through the same thing myself. I had 50% amber hairs by 4 weeks in and got VERY confused, because at the time i was under the impression that hairs were the way to tell. Boy was i wrong. After a full 12 weeks of those girls still going, i actually ended up cutting them down (and that was still at least 2 weeks early, probably due to stress) because i needed the flower room for my vegging girls. Start your counting from the first day you saw pistils, and start watching closely around week 7 or so. That's where you will get the plumping of nugs, the more speedy trichome transitions, and then its just deciding what kind of high you want and determining your harvest day from there =D

Mine has been done at about 6.5 to 7 weeks last 2 rounds, look at the trichs had about 25% amber when I cut.

thank u all,and budreaky thank you for being blunt and reasuring me that i am an impatient bastard.....this is true!!! one more quick question.i started flushing with final phase when i saw about 50% cloudy trichs and im waiting for about 20% amber, but they seem like they are goin to go a couple more weeks till amber and being a sativa ive read this happens.this is my first harvest goin on trichs.Well my question is if they end up goin a couple more weeks should i worry about the fact i stopped nutes?they are already showing signs of deficiancy and im worried it will affect potency. If so should i add a little nutes or just let them do there thing?

Its better to stop your nutes and let the plant sap available nutrients from its leaves. Potency should not be affected. It'll taste better too / less harsh

ya don't chop yet. My double blueberry strain has a short flowering (7-8 weeks) i'm coming up to week 8 and still gonna wait another 5-7 days. Usually the rule of thumb is, better to chop late than early. and 5 or so days after 8 weeks will not be late heh.

Trichs can be a bit confusing. I have some areas of my plants showing 30% amber and 70% cloudy, but then other areas showing closer to 70% cloud and 30% clear. I've also heard some strains' trichs won't turn amber until you chop it. just something i heard tho.

i dont stop feeding till a week before harvest, i use organic based ferts and i never have harsh bud problems because i didnt flush long enough, to be honest im beginning to believe more and more its not really that important.
