hey i got a couple clones over at my uncles house that he was taking care of for me. they were all looking great until my uncle passed away about 2 weeks ago. ever since then they have been goin south. my cousin is the one taking care of them and he said he only waters lightly every other day and thats it. he says thats all my uncle was doing. one of them, a sour grape haze clone is looking bad. i thought it was overwatering at first because everytime i go over there its pretty moist and sometimes water is pooled up. they just rototilled and ammended with some miracle grow soil ammender and some potting soil from the local nursery. also they added some chicken and cow manure. its definately not underwatering. i checked the ph and it was 6.3. all the other plants look fine tho. below are pictures of the sour grape haze and then two shots of the rest of the garden so u can see they look fine. this plant was 7ft before he tied it down and it would be a great loss for his family so any help would be highly appreciated.

I had that happen to me.. One day looked good next day completly wilted and it had ample water it's whole life. It was dying so I pulled up on the stem and the whole plant came up due to dead root system? I do not know what happened to this plant. it is dead and it was a first for me. I will be watching this thread. Happened to a relatives too. I think it was a virus or something

overwatering looks very similar to not enough water. So if you know for sure their gettin plenty of water, its prob overwatering. i'd say just let the soil dry out (2 days roughly) then go back to normal watering.

yea that deffinetely looks like overwatering, overwatering can cause 2 things yellowing/dieing leaves (which you have), and wilting which could also be confused with underwatering but we can rule that out since you know you water... for a 7 footer how much do you water you mentioned he watered the same the whole time as the plant gets bigger you will need to water more and more... let it dry for about 2 days like the guy above said then give it one really good watering maybe like 1-2 gals. then let sit for 2 days and repeat you cant water every day or you get root rot like one of the above posters have mentioned, you must let the roots dry out and "stretch" so to speak for the water if you keep watered all the time they dont "stretch" and dont build a nice healthy root system hope any of that info helped good luck!.. .

what are your out side day time temps. and how much water is light watering. if it was under watering. if you gave it a gallon of water early morning it would perk up in a hour or two. every strain likes different climates.

today was the first cool day in awhile it actually rained today but it had been in the upper 80s to lower 90s for awhile. im thinkin overwatering. my cousin doesnt see how thats possible since the ones next to it are fine. but that is the only one that is almost all sativa. and isnt it true that sativas have a smaller root system than indicas so is it possible that sativas may need less water? but ya thats the advice i gave him was to let it dry out for a couple days, i told him 3 days. and i know its not underwatering because it would have bounced back already. i have starved plenty of plants of water and they always pop right back and this never did. well thanks for all the help u guys i will keep u updated.

also you could have root damage. i overwatered a plant one time and it never recovered. the roots were fucked

here is my 2 cents, got change for a 5 cents?

check it twice per day. it is a water problem. when i have someone else cover for me they NEVER do it right. did someone take a leak out there? never know but the acid could cause a mess.
tommorow i would give it a boost of iconic boost or a root organic product like bloom or grow.
i dont use mircale grow, leaves a bad taste when smoked.
i have a 11' in flowering outside now.

Looks underwatered to me.
You must have missed the part in the OP that said everytime he goes to visit the plants, there is water pooled up and the plants are moist.....

You also may have missed all of the irrigation equipment shown in the photos....

I highly doubt that you are correct....

Hence me using the word "looks"

OP - did you get this sorted out?

I have the same issue. For me the roots are not takiing up any water. All other plants are drinking the soil dry, this one is saturated because the roots are sick or somehting.

You can keep her going with folier feeding Hygrozyme. Pretty much bypassing the root issue and feeding into the leafs.
Iv been keeping one alive for 2 weeks (Still wilted) bit its now budding.

However if you have turd sized buds you risk rot.

I also put organism and hygrozyme into the soil bed.

If the roots are locked then you have two choices.

1. transplant (And I regret not transplanting my 6 footer) Royal pain in the ass and stress but it WILL fix!
Dunk the root mass in B1 and Organism, put in fresh soil.

2. Keep on life support with foilure feeding.

(Note im a first time grower, take with grain of salt) But I had a good teacher keeping my sick girl going,.and going..and budding (But still wilted)

Mine looks 100% like yours! Unable to take water VIA roots resulting in the horrid yellow leafs.

Good luck!

PS: Take the yellow leafs out so it wont try to repair them (I take any thats 50% yellow)

thanks for all the advice... so i have let it go without water for 3 days now and it looks pretty much the same. im gonna break up the topsoil with a garden claw just real lightly so that it drains more evenly. i dug down a couple inches next to the plant and it was moist 2 inches down. im gonna keep checking the soil and water once its dry another inch down or so. and when i water im goin to give her only a gallon. now i heard that sativas have a less dense root system than indicas, with that said do sativas need less water? thats the only one that is practically a straight sativa, all the other ones are either straight indica or indica dom hybrids. they all get evenly watered that one doesnt get watered any more or less than the others so im guessing that strain just doesnt require as much agua. any thoughts on that?

so upon further inspection i noticed the stalk was rotted right next to the ground. i barely poked it and it just crumbled. is there anything else i can do besides just letting the soil dry out and wait?

bro watering every other day sounds like under watering but seriously looks deprived of phosphate and mag. lil more water and some nutes you should be good if you want a good juice mix for them check out my page. good luck and good smoking

i water my plants at my other site every 3 sometimes 4 days... and they probably could go five im just not goin to find out. and its not a nutrient def they receive bills perfect fertilizer (6-11-5), spray-n-grow (micronutrient complex), ff big bloom, and roots organic's molasses product called trinity. if u read my post above i confirmed that it was overwatering when i seen the stem rot. the water wasnt draining right in some spots so the water was pooling up by that plant. but thanks for the input.
