7 wk flowering giants dying! Hellllp!!

I have several plants which are 7wks or so into flowering and now all the leaves around the flowers are curling up and dying! Yikes!

I see no real evidence of bugs or droppings on the leaves- top or bottom. I DID notice some super-tiny little hopping/flying things in the soil around the stalks on some plants.

Seems like the Sativa's are hit harder than the Indica's.

I let the plants get very dry when I first saw this issue, and also cultivated around the edges of the pots (they are like 2-3 gallon pots, so no root damage), hoping that maybe if I dried them out, it would just be an issue of over-watering. That did not help, so I watered them heavily, thinking nute-burn. Do dice w/that either.

I am brand new to the forum and to posting AT ALL so if I'm doing an idiot job, I apologize.

Meanwhile, can anybody help? I've got about 5 months into this large grow and to see it dying extremely fast at the climax flowering moment is about to kill me!! Seems that all the new little leaves coming out of the "flower areas" are curling up & dying. Big leaves and fan leaves- no probs. Noen are getting yellow either, just curling up & dying. Is this normal at hervest time maybe? Thing is- FYI- the plants are into flowering now by 7 weeks, and the trich's are STILL not going yellow/brown. Don't know what that means, buy just FYI. They ARE on careful 12/12, and under two- 1000 watt HPS hoods. All water has been filtered, and nutes have been carefully/minimally done.

Please help if at all possible because I think they'll be gone in the next couple days......

Where did you get your seeds? They should look a lot more full at 7 wks flowering. Whats your lamp? Temps? etc..?

they look overall pretty healthy, but i agree with whoever said that they should look a lil fuller at seven weeks.. especially since you said that you are growing under a 1000 watts.. what kind of nutes are you using? how far away is the light? temps? that thing must have alot of sativa in her..
alot of time towards the end of flowering, some of the fan leaves may yellow and or die as the plant is using most of its resources to develop flowers.. they look pretty healthy to me, would just like to see a lil more density in the nugs, as i am sure you would too..
a little more details would help out some too.

Overall your plants look healthy. I see a little curling but nothing I would consider an immediate threat. Good job bro.

It sounds to me like you need a moisture meter. They are cheap, easy to use and readily available at walmart, lowes, home depot, just about anywhere really.
Having a moisture meter will remove any doubt about how much and how often you need to water.

And patience is the key, even at 7 weeks flowering it looks like you've got a while to go. Good luck

is this a joke?
7 weeks?
2 1000 watt lights?
wow...
huh...
uhhh.... good luck i dunno what to say
i dont have a clue what could cause that?

its hard to say exactly whats wrong with your plants. They look good, dont get me wrong, but it sounds like it could be a couple things. If its high heat then the leaves are losing moisture to fast and they cup in order to retain moisture. If its only the top leaves then it could be high light, try moving the light up a little bit. And obviously overwatering/underwatering could be your problem too. Get a moisture meter. Uncle Ben says the most common cause of leaf cupping is over fertalzing.

I dont know man, but to me it looks like some bad genetics. Those things are way too fluffy for 7 weeks, even for sativas. Id let them go another 7, depending on how much your eating on your powerbill =-(

I think you have light leaks. Like everyone before me has said those are not far enough along, even for a sativa. Notice how the buds at top of the plant are growing away from the stem with a bunch of those "single fingered" leaves. Everytime I have revegged a plant that is what the new growth looks like.
Also, I had 8 plants growing in a room with 1000W hps. somebody went in the room when the light was off and had a light on for about an hour in the middle of their dark cycle during week 8. Next thing you know the buds were spreading out away from the stalk and growing those type of leaves almost a complete lose!...The pics are of those plants.... Looks just like what you have going on. Sorry but no matter what you do now you may have another month or so until your done.

Forget the moisture meter. That doesn't do shit.

Your plants are showing signs of nitrogen toxicity, that's why your leaves are clawing down and your buds are small.

You need to back off of the nitrogen during flowering.

What nutes are you giving them?
