70hps and 70mh grow

OK, Looks like a good start. I'm glad you are using 2 HID Lamps instead of CFL's (like most newbs here). I am not sure about your wiring gauge, but someone will be here to help you with that, just be patient - or look it up online. Anyway, you cab looks nice, and I think those 2 Lamps will do great in your set-up. Try to put the bulbs horizontally into a single reflector (aluminium turkey pan from dollar store) and move them up /down on a pulley as a single unit. i just looked on my 1000w ballast and both the cord from the power source to the ballast and the cord running from the ballast to the reflector are 16 guage AWG. that would be more than safe for a 70w. it probably says the wire size in tiny indented print on the wiring on it now. if u add much length u should increase gauge a bit.
 
yea i sorted the wiring used a extension lead wire as there very thick and i assume they can handle alot of power hung the bulb horizontally im only going to be using one bulb at a time mh for vegg and hps for flower but if i can get another hid gearbox ill set up the mh and the hps together need to get a reflector image.jpg
 
if that bulb is a "mogul" size it will fit into a reflector like a cooltube that would be wired with a safe sized wire and remove a lot of the heat from your space. the wires on the back of the socket are a little exposed for my liking. but i love ur set up. ive never seen such small HIDs.
 
I'll be pulling up a chair also. Looks good so far... only thing is, you should rig some cheap reflector for the lamp. hint- aluminum turkey pan, from the Dollar-Store ;) - works great and it's worth the Lumens reflected back to your garden.

im getting a reflector and they give of hardly any heat

I suggest gsc over amnesia haze for your setup, at least the first run. Amnesia is stretchy and needs a lot of light to perform well and takes longer to flower.

You could use the mh for veg initially and switch to both hps+mh combined for flower. In electricity cost, that second bulb, on average, running 12/12, would cost you roughly $4 per month extra (obviously depends on your rates per kwh). In bud it will result in an oz or two more so sounds like a good deal to me if you already got the space.
