900w Vipraspectra (430 actual draw) blurple, 4x4 tent, 440 CFM exhaust, 3 fans, cheap heat mat and propagation dome. Tomatoes, peppers and other stuff along with cannabis. The cannabis is all from unknown genetics. I have doing various experiments, trying to learn so some plants aren't very healthy due to that. There is a window directly behind the tent. Will be getting an AC for warmer weather, and will be doing outdoor as well. 5 -6 months experience, I forget. Have been battling russet mites the past two months. Thought they were gone, but nope. Have been using neem oil/soap with success, with much diligence. It's hard on them though. After last frost, what's not already flowering will go outside, and/or destroyed by . I will completely sanitize everything a few times. I will be getting some better genetics soon as well and will start them fresh after a cleaning. Any advice?

Advice:

Ditch the blurple. and run the light in the title.

Get known quality genetics.

Make sure those russet mites are totally wiped out, if they come back all your work is for naught. Pretty much impossible to win a battle with them sans going nuclear, killing everything and sterilizing multiple times. Or just burn down the house and call the insurance company lol

Hope that helped some. If you have more specific questions let us know.

Happy Growing! :bigjoint:

You may need a bigger exhaust fan depending on the ambient temperatures unless you go with the LED. Still though that 750 DE HPS would rock that tent real nice if you can keep it cool in there.

I'll be getting an 8k BTU AC for the window directly behind the tent in the near future. Right now, a cracked window does well enough to keep it around 75. My RH isn't on point, also need a humidifier, but it's on the list, lol.

Thanks for the advice! I'm currently running the 750w in the tent on 12/12 and the blurple is vegging. I hope to replace the blurple at some point, but that's going to be a bit. I've been opening the tent flap to deal with heat issues, when their lights on schedule overlaps. Will be getting an 8k BTU AC for the window behind the tent soon. It's really only when it gets up to 60 °f that it gets hard to handle the heat. Right now, a cracked window works well enough to keep it around 75 Will also definitely be getting better genetics. I've gotten lucky and got some fire, but some meh as well. It's a crapshoot, lol. It's just when I first started I didn't want to kill expensive seed while trying to learn. Oh and yeah, in hindsight I wish I would have scrapped everything when I first found the mites. I tossed most of it but kept a few... Those proceeded to infect the rest for the next couple of months, lol.
