For some reason the guys putting his picnic basket on top of a stack of books reminded me of something, but I could not think of what it was. I have thought and thought and thought and it finally came to me. It is from a Monty Python's Flying Circus skit ... I think the guy is a fan of Monty Python's Flying Circus and is trying to do a Monty Python's Flying Circus Grow!

Society for Putting Things on Top of Other Things

  • Toastmaster: Gentlemen, pray silence for the President of the Royal Society for Putting Things on Top of Other Things. (There is much upper class applause and banging on the table as Sir William rises to his feet.)
Sir William: I thank you, gentlemen. The year has been a good one for the Society (hear, hear). This year our members have put more things on top of other things than ever before. But, I should warn you, this is no time for complacency. No, there are still many things, and I cannot emphasize this too strongly, not on top of other things. I myself, on my way here this evening, saw a thing that was not on top of another thing in any way. (shame!) Shame indeed but we must not allw ourselves to become too despondent. For, we must never forget that if there was not one thing that was not on top of another thing our society would be nothing more than a meaningless body of men that had gathered together for no good purpose. But we flourish. This year our Australasian members and the various organizations affiliated to our Australasian branches put no fewer than twenty-two things on top of other things. (applause) Well done all of you. But there is one cloud on the horizon. In this last year our Staffordshire branch has not succeeded in putting one thing on top of another (shame!). Therefore I call upon our Staffordshire delegate to explain this weird behaviour.
(As Sir William sits a meek man met at one of the side tables.)
Mr Cutler: Er, Cutler, Staffordshire. Um ... well, Mr Chairman, it's just that most of the members in Staffordshire feel... the whole thing's a bit silly.
(Cries of outrage. Chairman leaps to feet.)
Sir William: Silly SILLY!! (he pauses and thinks) Silly! I suppose it is, a bit. What have we been doing wasting our lives with all this nonsense (hear, hear). Right, okay, meeting adjourned for ever.
(He gets right up and walks away from the table to approving noises and applause. He walks to a door at the side of the studio set and goes through it. Exterior shot: a door opens and Sir William appears out of it into the fresh air. He suddenly halts.)
Sir William: Good Lord. I'm on film. How did that happen?
(He turns round and disappears into the building again. He reappears through door, crosses set and goes out through another door. Exterior.' he appears from the door into the fresh air and then stops.)
Sir William: It's film again. What's going on?
(He turns and disappears through the door again. Cut to him inside the building. He crosses to a window and looks out, then turns and says...)
Sir William: Gentlemen! I have bad news. This room is surrounded by film.
    Members: What! What!
(Several members run to window and look out. Cut to film of them looking out of a window. Cut to studio: the members run to a door and open it. Cut to film: of them appearing at the door hesitating and then closing door. Cut to studio: with increasing panic they run to the second door. Cut to film: they appear, hesitate, and go back inside. Cut to studio: they run to Sir William in the centre of the room.)
    A Member: We're trapped!
Sir William: Don't panic, we'll get out of this.
    A Member: How?
Sir William: We'll tunnel our way out.
Barnes: Good thinking, sir. I'll get the horse.
Sir William: Okay Captain, you detail three men, start digging and load them up with cutlery, and then we'll have a rota, we'll have two hours digging, two hours vaulting and then two hours sleeping, okay?
(Barnes and others carry a vaulting hone into shot. The members start vaulting over it Two Gestapo officers walk by.)
Mr Cutler: All right, Medwin, lees see you get over that horse. Pick your feet up, Medwin. Come on, boy!
1st German Officer: Ze stupid English. Zey are prisoners and all they do is the sport.
2nd German Officer: One thing worries me, Fritz.
    1st German Officer: Ja?
2nd Germam Officer: Where's the traditional cheeky and lovable Cockney sergeant?
Sergeant: (donning tin helmet) Cheer up, Fritz, it may never happen (sing) Maybe ies because I'm a Londoner...
2nd German Officer: Good. Everything seems to be in order.
(The Gestapo officers leave. Mr Cutler runs up to Sir William.)
Mr Cutler: Colonel! I've just found another exit, sir.
Sir William: Okay, quickly, run this way.
Everyone: If we could run that way . .. (he stops them with a finger gesture) sorry.
(ANIMATION: A bleak landscape. A large foot with a Victorian lady on top of it comes hopping past. A door in a building opens and the society members (real people superimposed) run out, along the cartoon, and disappear, falling into nothingness. Cut to section of an oesophagus. The members (now animated cut-outs) fall down it into a stomach where they are joined by various large vegetables. Pull back to show that this is a cutaway view of an Edwardian gentleman. He belches.)
Animation Voice: Oh, I'm terribly sorry, excuse me.
(He moves through a door marked 'gents'. We hear a lavatory flushing. Cut to linkman at table.)
Linkman: Ah, hello. Well they certainly seem to be in a tight spot, and I spot... our next item - so let's get straight on with the fun and go over to the next item - or dish! Ha, ha!

Thanks, and my 4 oldest are starting to show private parts. I just now noticed them. maybe in a day or two they'll be clear of what sex they are.
Typically your plants will not show sex until 1-2 weeks into flowering (that is when you give them at least 12 hours of darkness a day). You might get lucky and they show pre-flower before this but it would be at about 6 weeks of veg, not right now.

what kind of cannabis have you grown and did they all take you 2 months to find out.... Some are saying 10 days and some say a few weeks.

some say a couple months. I guess it's all on strain. my strain is unknown. I'm just going to not worry about it until I see some blatant balls

Yes, 10 days or 2 weeks AFTER PUTTING THEM INTO FLOWER... (hence my 1-2 weeks into flowering comment in the first sentence of my post)

OK .. I have a serious question to ask .. no jokes .. no ridicule .... a true serious question ... that will be based on an assumption.

The assumption is that your plants will all survive and will grow at least fairly well, have at least average or close to average acceptable growth, and that none will me males so you will not have to deal with attempting to remove any unwanted males whose roots would be incredibly tangled with your females, from your females.

With that being the assumptive premise.

To what height will you allow your plants to grow while in the vegetative growth phase? How tall will you grow your vegetating plants before you switch them to a flowering light cycle?

How tall would you expect your plants to grow to while in the flowering growth phase, keeping in mind that normally plants will double to triple in size during flower and some, like some predominantly sativa strains I have grown have jumped up slightly over six times in height. So how tall would you believe your plants will be by the time they are ready to harvest?

can you prove that and disprove what I said. you can't just talk because you are a known idiot already.... need a strong argument with facts, cutie.

and 3 weeks from seed btw and botanist also say it's possibilty by the growth of the leaves and the gap differential.

I'll decipher that when the time comes, but I discussed this on the 1st or 2nd page. I'm going to keep my plants short and minimal unless there are no apparent problems, then I'll grow them to my desire in height. I will be topping at least 1 and low stress training at least one. if it looks good I'll do the whole batch.

I don't even know what kind of plants I have. Why are you asking these questions about how tall I'm going to assume they will be..... lol, you've been growing for 45 years... I'll estimate between 1.5ft to 7ft tall.... going to try to keep them as short and as even as I can

sorry, argument invalid, I still think you are being a prick. can't prove anything. just shut up please <3

you are wrong by the way, and I can counter-attack once you want to battle the timing of sex deciphering

So as of now you have not decided on a desired height, or even a rough estimate of what height you will veg to? OK, I can accept that. I do not really understand it since you should have some basic plan, but I can still accept that.

Why I asked how tall, to what height, you intend to veg your plants was to get some idea of what their final height/seize will be and also see if your estimate and mine were anywhere close to being the same.

Oh .. not that it really matters but I have grown for 38 years, not 45 years. For it to be 45 years I would have had to start growing when I was 10 years old.

I do have one other question, another serious, non-joking question. What are the dimensions of the container you are growing in? How many inches long, how many inches wide, how many inches deep ... and what type material is it made of?

Please cite your source of information and what botanist claims that you can tell the sex of a cannabis plant just three weeks from seed by the growth of the leaves and the gap differential.

A link to a site where the information can be found, the name of a publication and the title for the article, the name of the botanist ... something for us to go by other than your claim.

the only goal is to make these plants survive and get something out of them and practice some techniques, I could care less about height or yield. and why did you quote yourself, It made the post ridiculously long and I almost skipped it. I'm not going to measure my baby basket precisely, I gave estimated dimensions before. it's a little more than a foot in height, and a little over 2ft in length for the longest ends. and the short width, I can't decipher as the basket is angled the wrong way from my view.

I can see a difference in sizes of the pistils, 1 of the plants they clearly skinny the whole way through... I'm going to assume that it's going to be a female. and the biggest plant, I can't really see the difference in the sizes (if it's fat on the bottom or the top of the pistil) . I'm confident that I'm getting at least 1 female. I'm actually starting to hope I do so that some of you geezers would stfu a little bit with questions like you are testing me out for NASA :D

I'm not the hard headed one. He wanted to argue that you can't tell sex until flowering. he also says some other ridiculous shit that I'm not worried about. He's just as smart as that user Grow-Plenty

OK ... I suspected it before but now it is totally clear. You do not want any help whatsoever. You do not want to learn anything from anyone who knows what they are talking about. You refuse to answer questions that are relevant to your growing situation and conditions when the answers might be something that would give someone an opportunity to help you at least a little bit.

You only want to argue that what you are doing is not totally insane and to be abusive to people.

Good luck buddy ... I will not attempt to help you in the least anymore.

exactly what i did with my first plant was experiment:

-vegged for 7 months ATLEAST (probly closer to 10, and for no reason, just so i could keep fucking with it in the veg. stage)
-topped once
-LST'd Hardcore
-used miracle grow potting soil in a recycle bin
-had it under wrong spectrum CFLs
-had it under 400watt MH
-had it under 1000watt MH
-took only like 4 clones
-was fighting thrips
-was fighting spider mites
-over fed
-cutt too many fan leaves off
-light stressed many times
-had it flower
-put it back in veg.
-even veg. under 1000watt HPS on 18/6 becuz i had no room under the VEG bulbs (when i had 42 plants) lmao

etc. etc. etc. i LOVED that plant, never got to harvest anything from it tho becuz of mites over time tossed everything, it was too bushy and infested:hump: lol

ya u gotta be a little open-minded here bro lol.. you infact CANT tell sex until she shows sex which is after enducing flower with 12/12 lighting and with a 3500k or less light spectrum... i thot different before based on smell, look of the plant, if its cemetrical, etc. etc. i was lucky with a few guesses the first time around but learnt my lesson.. some males can stink pretty good too. However i have bin very lucky, i planted 14 from seed before i got up to those 42 plants and every single one of those 14 sprouted and were females i couldnt fucking believe it.. but seriously.. take ur time and enduce flowr, when you see white hairs or "pistils" you know its a SHE, if you see balls or "pollin sacks" you know its a HE.. and if you get any HES make sure you get that horny bastard out of there quick before he starts fucking all you girls.

If you leave your plants in the vegetative growth phase long enough they will show pre-flowers. Mine do every single time. You do not have to induce flowering to sex your plants. You only need to do that to sex your plants if you veg for a shorter length of time.
