80 Hans panel strawberry cough week 7 flowering

Hey guys, so here is the Dinafem strawberry cough at the end of week 7 flowering. I recently created a thread discussing which lights I should purchase next for an upgrade and went over a few issues I was having regarding humidity. Humidity has come right down to 50-55% through either having a larger fan running permanently or the change in outside ambient conditions so that is a relief.

I had fungus gnats appear about 2 weeks ago and covered the medium with an inch of sand to fight them and that 95% succeeded and have only seen one or two over the past week.

I'm growing in a 50/50 coco/perlite hempy bucket around 2 gallons. Using canna coco A+B nutes and the only additive is canna PK booster about 3 weeks ago and a tsp/gallon of molasses. Using rain water PH'd to around 5.8.

The cabinet is 20"x48"x55" with passive intake and a small inline mixed flow pulling through a 4" x 10" carbon filter. As seen in pic. In the past 2-3 days I have noticed a very faint smell in the room and wonder if the filter is nearing the end of it's life, it has been used 24/7 since purchasing it 2 months ago and expected more but perhaps I need to up the fan to its max setting (135cfm) as opposed to its min setting (100cfm) but would prefer not to as I sleep in the room.IMG_1513.JPG

I feel like it should be closer to finishing by now using what Ive seen as a guideline on the forum, what do you guys think? Am I expecting more than I should in this time frame or is it just due to problems Iv had from my own inexperience that have caused it to be slower than expected?IMG_1508.JPG

I did nute burn it about 3 weeks ago and flushed it with 25% nutes and let it dry out a lot more than usual between waterings for the past couple weeks and it seems to have bounced back, I feel I over watered when flowering began but was lead to believe that was not possible.

Anyway, a couple questions I have at this seemingly critical stage.
-What height do you think is optimal for Hans panels?
-Should I add molasses every watering or stop using it?
-Any hints/obvious faults that would help me?

Thanks all for checking in and wish me luck for harvest, I will update regularly.

Yo bro, good grow and lovely LED. Get one of those speed controllers mate, plug in type with a dial on it, plug your extraction fans into that and you can control the whole speed range rather then just sticking with low or high speeds.

I run a 240 - 350 m3/h extraction fan on my 1.2 x 1.2 x 2m setup with one of those speed controllers plugged in, i can now run the fan at whatever speed i want.
Theyre well cheap aswell

Your LED might still be a little too close, look at the spectrum blend in the pics - raise it an inch or so to give the lights enough room to blend properly. Reds cause the stretching, and I see a bunch of people saying "switch to flower mode asap bro". There is a reason why the Hans panels come with modes - use the seed/mother setting until you get 1-2 weeks into flowering and then switch it into flower mode to limit node spacing.

The reason I said full flower mode asap for that particular situation was due to experience with it. I've run the Hans panel full blast from seed for years now and all those reds keep the veg still nice and tight.stretching is due to flower/strain.

The four blue cree diodes keep the nodes in check no matter the switch-mode.

K I have the bucket propped up on a few things so I will take one out to lower it an inch.

I will definately look into the speed controller thing you mentioned alpha, last night I spun the filter 180 degrees so the portion facing the cabs ceiling is now facing the canopy. My thinking was that portion of the filters carbon has had more saturation of smell as opposed to the bottom and will monitor results.

I followed the three settings the panel has as per the plants life and didn't switch it till flower till I flipped the plant and the nodes were super tight when I flipped her.

I will get off my lazy ass and get my girlfriends camera one day to take some proper photos, it is really starting to frost now however iPhone photos don't do it justice.image.jpg

Apologies for quality.

I'm also about to spend on a lighting upgrade and the cabinet to a perpetual style thing, I have the next beans ready to go and probably purchase 2 rw-75's and run a side by side comparison of hans and Area 51 for the next run. I have 5 red purps and a strawberry blu(free seed) which I will do the test with.

I will germ 3 of the red purps and the strawberry blue and ditch the weakest of the 3 red purps and have the other 2 on the sides of the light and the
strawberry blue in the "crossover part of the lights" ( the middle of the cab) and use the second rw-75 to veg the next batch.

K, I just bought the 2 rw-75's and will get them within 5-15 days, I hope they come sooner rather than later as I will put them over this girl to finish her.

Then as soon as I receive them I will germ my new beans and modify the cabinet to have a veg chamber on the top with a small utilities section off to the side mimicking a cabinet I saw posted here where the guy had DIY led bars and it looked unreal.

I forget the thread or guy that did it but I have a feeling it was using vero 10s or 18s as the basis for the build with 4 120mm pc fans at the top left of the bars and was "semi passive" cooled. Should anyone know what Im talking about tell me the thread name so I can look over it.

Also, weather has been really nice here for the past few days and as a result the RH in the cab has dropped down to 45-55% which as I understand it is perfect for flowering, so looking at finishing it up in 2 weeks.

I will start researching when to begin flush and continue using molasses every feeding until I do begin flush.

Thanks all for views and replies.

I found the cab I was speaking of which belongs to Mrflux. I am going to modify my cab into something very similar once I chop this girl and do the Hans vs RW-75 in the flowering chamber and keep one of the RW-75s up top in the veg part.

Or maybe I'll just run all 3 of the panels over 3 plants instead

Either way the side by side will take place from seed in approx 2 weeks.

Heres a photo of the side to keep you stoners interested. Still iPhone quality sorry.

Hey drin king
Looking good and congrats on the new lights! I also run canna nutes feed every watering. I also run flora nectar all the way through till the last 3 days then i flush. You wont have an issue running molasses till flush.

Easy on your ferts grower............your at the edge looking at your leaves.

be safe and good luck
Yeh I did think that the leaves were an unusual shade of deep green and Im pretty sure I overfed it for the majority of its life and probably got a little nitro toxicity happening.

I use canna coco A+B, I used some canna pk 13/14 at about week 4 or 5 and molasses at the same point. Nothing else aside from PH'ing rain water, I followed the charts to 90% accuracy.

I will heed your advice and back off on the nutes PSUAGRO.
-Should I be adding Calmag?
-Would you suggest lowering the amount of A+B mixture?
-Would you suggest less regular feedings?
-Or a mixture or both?

I suggest you follow Canna recommended feedings BUT with 2 flushes between for your conditions ATM^^^ feed-flush-flush-feed and so forth.

synthetics wont adhere to most substrates/mediums unless in trf-crf form, so plain water will effectively remove them fast.

good luck and be safe

K will do, I have read that you should not flush with just plain water in a soil less medium, does this apply to my coco/perlite medium?

I will definitely do some proper photos on monday with my girlfriends camera. I won't feed till then and will start doing some flush feedings.

Thanks a lot for your replies guys.

Looking good my dude.. I wouldn't start flushing yet, I don't notice much swelling of the bud or receding of the pistils.. You would essentially be starving your plant at the time it needs food the most. My favorite nute by far is Advanced Nutrients Overdrive.. I dont know if it's just because you feed with it at my favorite time (the swell) or if it actually does everything it seems it does.

Good luck wit it tho.. I actually just dropped one of my Dinafem Straw Cough and I know its a Sativa dom so time wise you may have another 4-5 weeks

Yeh we were just discussing flushing a couple time cause I went to hard on the nutes and by looking around I think I may be brinking on nitrogen toxicity.

Around 3 weeks ago I mixed a gallon of feed at all the max recommendations and added 2 tsps of molasses and cooked the poor thing. Started to get a few off the bottom leaves "clawing" and it had the smallest burn on the tip of pretty much every finger of every leaf, I guess every first timer "over-loves" their plant at least a couple times.

So I'll ease up on nutes for awhile, maybe I'll feed at 25% for a week then see how she reacts. I grabbed my girlfriends camera and will put up some proper pics after I finish work tonight.

K photo update using a proper camera.

Beginning of week 8IMG_0435.JPGIMG_0447.JPG

Im not the best photographer but it gives you a decent idea of the progress. The first photo is using the flash because without the light in my room isn't sufficient, I will probably snap another one during the daylight tomorrow for a better perception of the colour.

Got conformation that the 2 new RW-75s are on the way so hopefully by this weekend, I will germ the seeds the day they arrive under one of the panels and finish this lady off under one of the RW-75 and the hans.

I have no idea how to tell how much longer it has but if the poster above says 4-5 weeks that would be perfect as it will give me enough time to veg then new beans and put them straight to flower once this girl gets the chop.

I will modify the cab to accommodate a veg chamber, a dark area for drying/utilities and a flower area this weekend which will time in well with the lights arriving.

Thanks for replies and advice guys, peace
