Hey all I have a 20” x 36” x 62” Grow tent As of right now I am running 156 W of LED bulbs the 100 equivalent 14 watt bulbs

I have a 400 W magnetic HPS ballast with a metal halide conversion bulb That would mean it would be 80 W per square foot in my tent. Now if I put the 400 W in the tent And raise that the light to approximately 30 inches above two week old seedlings would it be too much light would I be better off sticking with the LED bulbs.? I feel like the LED bulbs are slacking and the H ID might be too much what are your opinions thank you

You should raise those plants up so they closer to the lights. Will grow faster. I have mt plants about four inches away from my LED's.

Pretty horrible job on the diy part lol. But it has the 12 led bulbs and then two pc fans pulling air from below pushing it up to my 6 inch outlet booster fan.

I just need to get my outdoor plants ready.

If I put them to close they have hot spots since the leds are spread apart to much cause the sockets I used were huge...

Here's my plants from a few days ago. They 12 days old in this pic and growing under two 9W LED's inside a tote. I moved them out in the field today and they will all be in the ground by tomorrow.

I just moved the light about 3 inches closer. The farthest I could move them without creating shade on the plants that don’t have an led bulb right over top of them... but I see you don’t need much lighting to create decent looking plants. My plants are going outdoors this weekend so I’m sure they will be fine with just the led. Thanks man I really appreciate the help.

If you have he height and can manage the heat you could totally drop the 400MH in there. Obviously 80w/sq ft is more than you would use if you were purchasing a new light for the space but if your goal is to beef those girls up to go outside and you have the equipment there is absolutely nothing wrong with the idea :hump:
