800 watts of cfls pics (should I switch to hps??)

you are doing such a good job with your stealth grow now,why switch up the flow by adding an hps before you even expanded your grow area?

all youre going to do is add more heat and in turn this stresses the plant
More heat is false dude is running 800w and most energy on all lights goes to heat not light and more so on cfl's than hps. You are believing old myths.
And the buds he gets are not equal to 800w buds are they?

i know its plenty hot in there already but i would imagine in a space that a couple of feet high i would imagine an hps putting out more heat then his set up now...i know that cool tubes definitely do the job but what about coverage in a scrog...is it better or worse than what he has now as far as coverage?

cooltube, remote ballast, his heat will drop drastically. Penetration beats all, hps has it cfl doesn't.

cool,i was just going by the fact that the man already spent the money for the cfl's and he's already done with THIS grow, focus the hps for the NEXT grow and get the floor plan ready, more space for more plants etc...this is quite good after all for just one plant and cfl's...agree or no?

I'm still not sure about bud size yet because I am still seeing clear trichs at the end of week 14. don't buds swell in the last two weeks?
also, I've got about 30 6 or 8 inch branches with bud the entire length and pretty thick... the rest of the branch 6 more inches or so that isn't seeing light has no bud (i've been a smoker for years.. I know a thick bud... I'm just curious HOW much thicker?)

the new cab is 2 1/2 feet by 1 1/2 feet by 4 feet and I'm not sure which way to sit the darn thing. I could have 4 feet of height leaving 2 1/2 feet width... put a single 600 watt in there with slight scrogging or putting it sideways and using cool tubes and 2 400 watters in the corners with cool tubes and scrogging at 12 inches leaving 12 inches left between scrog and lights... (six inches for the light itself)

or use my first cab that is 6 feet high by 1 1/2 by 2 1/2. (right now using it for flower on bottom half, seen in pics, and seedlings up top...)

so basically two different cabs, the bigger slender one is being used, the short fatter one is still pending... all because I don't know which one is better for the hps setup. either one 600 watt in the tall cab or 2 400 watt in the shorter wider cab.

and i always thought that scrogs spread out wide because the the method used,i totally understand the penetration but in his space i dont really see the WHOLE canopy(sides and all)getting even distribution of light because he said hes going 4 feet wide and i would think that you would at least need a few feet of hight to spread the light..no?

its that both options you have arent wide enough in my opinion, yeah hps's penetrate, but a small sspace like that would benefit with cfl's,but maybe im wrong

I know... just short of cutting a big hole out of both cabs and and pushing them together... oh wait... that could be crazy looking... both cabs together, one 6 feet, the other 4 feet but now 5 feet wide. the inside would be 4 feet of usable height and 5 feet of usable width. the top part of the taller cab would be used for seedlings and first part of veg. the stealth part would still be there. would just look like two cabinets pushed together... and since one is higher no one would ever think they were connected.

No small cabinet of that size needs two 400's or one 600 holy shit... Use two 150's or one 400 and it will still walk all over what you have now. I am done, this is a very old topic that's been covered 1000 times and there are three pages now. You either do it or don't doesn't matter to anyone but you.

very well my friend. I've read them all... believe me i've read them all... but when the advice keeps coming it's very hard to stop with normal conversation. never thought anyone would reply in the first place but when they did it definitely puts a more personal spin on this and feels like it helps more than just reading and reading... someone backing up or refuting my personal situation is VERY helpful. you know that feeling...

anyway, I'm done as well. thanks to all...
