The power supply tends to crap out before. Ive hung 10000s of diodes by now, only diode ive seen die in our own place is china diodes (from 2017 so about 7 y o by now) lm561C, without heatsink. Everything else still lights up.
I still have a rig with 3500k LM561c ( original first gen quantum ) with current Slate 1 heatsinks and she is till going strong from late 2015 . I dont overdrive them so thats probably why it is still growing me weed.

Citizen COBs are same age as boards ( late 2015 )

Mine were Alibaba fotops, large boards, like 5 qbs side to side on wide side, with 2mm thickness. They seemed to run really well up to 200w with no heatsink but there must have been some kinda deterioration. Alibaba quality obviously not the same as hlg. Not having a go at the diode infact im cool with them lasting how long they lasted. Though the same type of board but with baba 301bs are still running fine with minimal loss of output.

Alibaba has same quality diode zhe lamps are made in the same factory.just the cheap lamps are the ones that didnt pass quality controls, my case the spider would give you small electrical shock and lamps would still be turned on slightly if you put the plug wrong way.... but what do you want 10$ or 200$

Im not so sure about that. Whenever ive seen a china light properly tested they test way (10ish %) bellow their advertised spec. Mars for example, tested in a growoff by the GLA guys.

Way back when peeps here would try to figure out if there was any point in using Alibaba suppliers there was all sorts of ideas of how to identify genuine lm561C and differentiate it from B+ or just finding a sign of which diode was top bin and what was lower. I remember some thing about a black dot, i think it was the zenner diode leaving an imperfection in the phosphor. Point is it seems some companies where sold diodes as if they were top bin while clearly having all the signs of mid. What your talking about probably happens on assembly level but it also happens already before at diode level. If you make the numbers theres many lights that couldnt be built and sold at profit or even break even if using standard samsung prices. Does it matter? Probably not. You could get 2 china lights for the price of one western made and run them on half power for same performance and probably even better spread.

Look i know the pros & cons of each light, my only thing is, is that with the full spectrum light,i CAN if needed both seedling + veg + flower all from the 1 light.
I have a nursery like lil room downstairs that i can veg in upto 4ft if needed & then put them upstairs in a tent with a lot bigger light to flower/finish in & i was looking at putting just a small veg light down there like the Spider Farmer Glow80w which only has a max par reading of 313 which would be perfect enough JUST for veg although if i found myself in a predicament where i needed a bigger yield from BOTH spaces or my big light all of a sudden shit itself then i can still finsish the run albeit a lot less with the 100w full spectrum then i could do just that but with the 80w i don’t have that option ‍♂
What do you guys recommend?‍♂
Check out horticulture lighting group imo perfect to get into building your own fixture!
