8th week of flower, fan leaves turning yellow, when should I start final flush?

Hello rollitup users,
I was wondering when I should start my final flush before harvest? My fan leaves are starting to yellow and I'm still giving her nutrients, I'm in the 8th week of flower and I'm growing in coco so I would like to flush for about a week.

I would say about 70-80% of pistils are red with still some white hairs here and there and on top of the main stock of the plant. From the best I can tell my trichomes are cloudy, and I can't see any sign of turning amber as of yet.

My question is should I still continue giving her nutrients this week and flush her on the 9th week or should I start my final flush before harvest this week?

You should just lower the nutrient strength. I grow in coco and taper the nutes towards the end of flower so when I harvest I'm feeding 1/4 strength. Flushing plain water through the coco will only flush the coco. It will not flush anything out of the plant.

Also, you can't go by a set amount of weeks to harvest. You go by when the plant is done. Just because the pistils change color doesn't mean the plant is done. Those red pistils will actually recede as the calyx's swell and the buds put on more weight and become more dense. You likely have a couple more weeks left but without a picture nobody can tell you how much longer you have to go. 70 - 80% red pistils is not going to be close to being ready.

So since I'm in coco a final flush won't really do anything for her?

What's it supposed to do?

I added more to my previous post. I doubt that your plant will be ready at 9 weeks based on your description of the flowering stage.

Here you go. I know she has a couple weeks left under her belt that's why I was wondering when the appropriate time to do the final flush would be. You said that flushing in coco does nothing for the plant but from what I hear you're supposed to flush no matter what medium you're using before harvest, just for shorter times depending on the medium. Like I said from what I can tell she has cloudy trichomes but no amber yet.

Well if you heard that your supposed to flush no matter what then flush away.

Plant looks like it's been overfed. I'd just cut back to 1/4 strength nutes until harvest but that's just me.

Yea she has a bit of nutrient burn on her tips. Thanks for the advice, I'll lower the strength from this point on.

I don't grow in Coco but I believe you should never use plain water in coco, something to do with electivity (?) and science and stuff..

But yea flush might save u some $ on nutrients but wont magically "flush out" what's already in the plant, If anything the plant takes it from the leaves and deposits what it needs in the buds...so...

Interesting read.

Well here goes my .2 cents.
PSA I don’t grow in coco but your plant is really green..... lots to watch to know she’s “ready” trichomes, pistils and calyx’s. I would cut WAY back like the others said.... I mean almost to nothing. If you’ve never grown this strain before then you don’t know when she’s normally finished, and finished under your conditions your lights your temperatures your climate . What does the breeder say if he says nine weeks you better take it to 11... and if that’s the case I would cut out all nutrients... good luck
