This plant has been in a friends garden for just over 7 weeks thay have been indoors for about 10 days with 16hrs lights on and 8 off.
Check out my cluelss and needs help thread in indoor growing forum for plant's history.
How does it look? should the light stay the same or go to 12/12? Any suggestions?

Unless you can raise the lights I would go to 12\12. If you can raise the lights then go at that period for a little long, maybe another week for more branch growth.

its already starting to flower dude. .Unless you wanna revert it back to veg state, i would switch the plant over to 12/12 right now.

there is about another 3ft of space to raise the lights. Also there is not much airflow in the cupboard, is it worth putting a small fan in or will this just cool the cupboard and slow growth.

This is just a little, one time, set up as a kinda fun experiment rather than a serious grow. Never good to go cheap but can't spend more on the room than the yield is worth. With this in mind my friend has found two 42w cfl lamps for £11 which he has placed 3" away on either side of his plant. Is this gonna be enough or does he still need more light?

Cheers for the advice guys. My friend wasn't sure to even bother trying after reading about soil, water, nutes, pests and patience but with 2 extra light and a fan added to the room she has grown 5"in 5 days. She is fatter and stands unsupported. There is loads of new growth lower down the stem. She sparkles in the light and her leaves are hairier than my arse. My friend is all excited and beginning to enjoy his new hobbie. Advice is very helpful as it's not easy to find exactly what you want browsing forums or reading the FAQ and easy to be scared off by all the horror stories. My friend hopes his luck holds out and wishes luck to all the other newbies.
Now that things are taking off my friend is thinking about nutes but doesn't want to get over excited. He has read nutes should be given every 2-3 days, once a week and once a month. Which is correct/safest?? His mum has some ready to pour miracle grow, is this worth a go or a mistake. What's a good easily available nute to use? Please keep that adice coming.

nute it at quarter strength to start every third watering you could get like umm green light super bloom at a local store and it will probably be better than mg and thats what i would do in your situation

dude, bust out your google, n search "Hydroponic store in (your city n state here)". It will show you the nearest hydro shop around.

DO NOT USE MG NUTES FOR YOUR PRETTY FUCKIN PLANT BRO. i dont wanna see your leaves get burnt. i mean MG is alright in some cases, but to be honest, Mg leads down one common road for the most part, and its nutrient burn. Alot of people have had successful grows with Mg, but it takes ALOT of effort and patience to do this. If your already using MG soil, dont bother with the nutes.

Now, back to the hydro shop. If you find one within 30 miles, its worth the drive. What you wanna do, is go grab yourself a small bag of Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil mix. Its organic, and your plant will fuckin love it. If your gonna do it, do it now, cuz in another week or two it will be too dangerous to transplant your shit. But if you cant or dont wanna transplant, just pick up some FF big bloom and tiger bloom from the hydro shop. N if you need some advice on how to deal with MG soil and FF nutes (im just assuming your using MG soil, cuz thats what everyones parent has layin around, and usually if you live with them, that what you end up using, cuz its free, lol) , you just ask your hydro shop pro. Tell him your growing some tomato, cucumber, and pepper plants, and you need to know if the Fox Farm nutes will burn your veggies if your using Mg soil already.

Now, the feeding. Your gonna want to give your plant nutrients somethin like once every other feeding for the first couple weeks of flowering, and then as they resin and bud production gets more and more involved, i would move it to every feeding. You shouldnt change how often you feed your plants water, just do that as usual, but add nutrients to the water you feed them. Should be somethin like once every 2-3 days.

Bah, im just ramblin on now, take from it what you will. I hope i helped out a LITTLE bit at least, lol.

Some great advice, you're either doing your best to help or red as fuck. My friend has a friend who gave him what he reckoned was "Shit hot" soil to repot with. It has been mixed four parts soil with one part pearlite and small bit of vermiculite. Apparently the soil contains nutes to last up to three weeks, so plan to hold of on additional nutes for a while.
Plant was doing fine but has been wilting and stems look red. I think is been overwatered a little. Care was taken to make sure this didnt happen but obviously not enough. Been three days since repot, cut some small view panels in the side of the pot and soill looks normal 3/4 way down, bottom 1/4 looks very wet still, plan to leave a couple of days and hope it perks up. Check out the pics. Any advice on those big leaves with the red stems, should they stay or should they go? How does she look in general? Any and all comments and advice is gratefully received

I would say go to 12/12. Next time keep them on 18/6, not 16 and 8. I would also keep them in the dark for 36 hours before you go to 12/12. This saves you a few days in the long run!
