90w UFO L.E.D Grow LST

So here we go!

I have 3 beans that have been germed and popped their heads out of the soil on 24/09/10.

G13 Labs - Pineapple Express fem
Dinafem - Blue Widow fem
Dutch Passion - Blueberry Auto fem

They are in 4inch pots with Atami KiloMix soil. Nice amount of perlite in there for drainage and a nice amount of ferts in there for first week.

I am using a 90w UFO L.E.D light
It is probably the best UFO out there as it is the only one that uses the highest quality CREE L.E.D's.
Well, it is my first time using this light unit, so we shal see! :)

After usually 2 weeks i start using BioGrow at 1/4 strength, then water, then 1/2 strength, water, 3/4, water, full strength, and i continue break up the feeding days with a day of pure water inbetween. I find this the easiest way for me not to overfeed and means my plants use up what is available and take only what they need.
I tend to get healthier plants this way.

So i am now currently on day 12, and since day 9/10 i noticed on all 3 plants what i thought was a N difficiency on the baby leaf and first leafs.
The green was being sucked away from the lead edges into the centre of the plant.
On day 11 when all 3 plants had their first leafs turn a lighter shade of green with a yellow tint i fed them all BioGrow at 1/4 strength.

Today is day 12, and for some reason it seems like i may have a different problem, as the Pineapple Express and Blue Widow have gone from a dark healthy looking green to a pale looking green. This is all in the space of 12 hours since watering.

My pH is around 6.7, and the UFO is around 4 inches from the tops.

If you look at the leaves in the group photo, you can see how much yellowing there is!!!

I welcome everybody on board this ride and see it from start to finish.
I think they are some unique strains being grown a unique way, and i cant wait to see the results!

I will be using it from start to finish, and possibly supplement the 4 corners with a CFL each.
I see you are from London too! Easy! :)

I don't know why your leaves are turning. I just wanted to say that is a badass set-up you got for now. Very low key, I like it. Good luck with your girls.

Calyx LED
Yeah buddy! Looks GREAT my friend! I'm stoked to see another Desert Hydro LED in action. +REP

I think that yellowing plant just needs some more nitrogen...

That is the exact same thing i thought, so i hit it with 1/4 strength nutes.
12 hours later and the yellow has spread.

The Atami B'cuzz KiloMix is meant to be fertilized, and ive never had to feed so soon.

Its either the pots are so small and the roots have spread so quick the nutes in the soil are used up

or

there is a deeper problem.

Lets see what we grow!

Think it's quite possibly a nitrogen deficiency...
I had the same thing with my CM's, all leaves were light green turning yellow, but then I o.d'd them on nitrogen and they got burnt bad XD
Personally I'd hit em with a 1/2 - 3/4 strength feed, yeah they'd burn a bit but I learn by doing, currently hitting my 2 week old pineapple expresses with a full to double dose and so far no burning :)

'sup to you if you wanna risk it!

using miracle gro' all purpose plant food lol cheapskate nutes, but they work!

and yeah I would definitely supplement with CFL's for Flower, not knocking LED's but 1, 90w panel wont do much by itself.

lol and is that a samsung 42" LED TV :p

Today i transplanted into some 6.5ltr square pots.
Added a little suprathrive into the water and transplanted.
In about 7 days i am going to start L.S.T the plant. :)
The PE already had side nodes growing. This is gunna be a killer strain! Cant wait to grow it big in a few months!
Pics will be up later!

And no, its a 50" Samsung HDTV. :D
Its the only thing that satisfied my needs when it came to being blazed in bed and watching a film. Haha
Im about 10ft from the tv, so my eyes are bigger than an Owls when im stoned and watching it! lol

lol

1: are you planning on transplanting again into bigger pots? 6.5l is a wee bit small for an adult plant imo :)
2: PE wont disappoint, well Im only about a week ahead of you with it and it really takes off... Top it and see!
3: 50" sweet XD i got a sofa so I could settle with 32" but HD, LED is buff :p

Its more than enough, i have never root bound a plant in these before.
I have an 8ft skinny plant in a smaller capacity pot outside.
Check out my other thread.
It was about 1.5ft taller than my shed in the pic, had to snap the main stem and supercrop the head!! lol

Whats up Tdooda, now i dont know much but they say the only stupid answer is the one not givin. So after saying that, i know you said that after you notice the yellowing you gave them a light strength nute mix and the yellowing spread. I know its a little early for this but have you checked the ph in the soil itself because it sounds like it might be a small nute lockup because of high ph in the soil. so you might wanna flush for a few days in a row then apply nutes to see what that does. Just adding a little advice

Easy Trey!
The pH of the soil is between 5.8-6.7 and i pH lower my water to around 6.7too
I use the old skool method of testing pH, using a little vial and some lithmus solution.
Ive transplanted them now, so i will see how they take hold in the new soil.
Thanks for your input though, glad to have you on board.

subscribed. want to see what those UFOs can do.
Nice one Token!
In theory, i should be rewarded with a nice amount of frosty bud!
Glad to have you subbed up! +rep bruv!

Cant wait to see what happens :)
I cant wait either!
Its so pretty to look at! When i blazed i can just stare at them up close, not realising that 25 minutes have gone by! lol

Nice one AKRevo47!
Thanks for subbing too! +rep

My last grow was CFL.
If i yeild more than 1.oz dry off each plant, then i have beaten my CFL grow in terms of watts used vs. dry bud!

The peat pots are nice to use as they hold water in them nicely and disperse it into the soil when needed.
Only thing i have about them is when i transplant, the roots get stuck to the side and a few get ripped off.

Thank you all very much!

Peace!

Easy all!
Heres a few pictures from yesterday, just after transplanting so you can see what the plants look like.
I will post pictures tomorrow after 48 hours for a comparison shot.

3 Posts due to file size.
Cant seem to get the size lower than 100kb.

Pineapple Express

Notice how it has the most yellow leaves out of all the plants, but it has the most undergrowth.
I also noticed a slight purple tint in the new leaves in the centre.

Blue Widow
Plant leaves look so beautiful, if not a little mutant looking, but i like it!

A little yellowing but not too bad!
Little purple tint in the new leaves too!

Blueberry
The smallest of all the plants, due to genetics i reckon.
I say in about 1 week or so the plant will shoot up very very quickly.
I noticed that the lower leaves all have a heavy purple tint on the edges of the leaves. Genetics or a problem?
