We all lost and things will never be the same. It feels like Trump won. He successfully destroyed civility and replaced it with insults, name calling and the ability to lie with a straight face so often that it's expected. What an interesting twist in our country's history. We are so fucked.

Thinking about all those treaties our nation had ignored to the indigenous peoples of this continent for more than a couple seconds may help you realize that it's always been this way.

I really don't think we will ever be the same country. We are so polarized that we will never agree on anything again. The planned armed attacks planned by the really whacked out Trump fans is going to be interesting. Think it was violent on the 6th just wait until inauguration day. One thing I find curious is that the nutbags in the right think that the Democrats are unarmed and would not fight against any sort of attempt to take over.

I will wait until this decades long propaganda attack that the Republicans have been conducting on our public that the Russian military has hijacked is dealt with before I am ready to make the leap of us not being the 'same country'.

The only real difference is that it is happening to white people and is being televised now. This gives me hope people will finally be forced to watch the reality of what is going on and sober up to what we need to do as a nation to stop the lies and propaganda that a handful of bad actors are doing to maintain political power.

Hopefully your right about people facing reality but I think it's pretty clear that Trump's gang don't care about the truth. One liners are sufficient for them as far as reality goes. Trump was able to rally a extremely politically shallow "gang" of thugs and people is his camp are incapable of debating anything intelligently. Massive voter fraud and no evidence but they buy it. I mean crikies they genuinely believe that Antifa were the ones who broke into the capital just to set up Trump even though there is no evidence. I will say the press were willing to voice opinions instead of reporting the news with no bias. Of course Fox has done the same thing. Why Trumpist can't see the truth is beyond me. Yep the "law and order" folks had no problem attacking the police and violating the capital by trashing it. Partisan politics is going to become the norm without regard for the truth and without regard for justice. I hope your right and that we can move by what people think was a coup attempt. I laugh at buffalo head telling the military that he's in charge.

Their echo chamber just got a lot smaller. That is why I have hope.

The well oiled propaganda machine that Trump allowed to repeating the same lies over and over again have given Trump supporters a false sense of reality and trained them to spout the big lies and get angry so real life conversations end.

I am hopeful if people do not allow the manufactured voices the platform it is only a matter of time before people will be forced to think for themselves when they want to take issue with something that they care about.
