Mostly they will say "this light only consumes x watts" so you have to look in the fine print. Unfortunately I couldn't see anything in that add.

I just found a "600w" version of the same light you have, its actually a 40w light. (probably enough for less than 1ft square.

Look at other options.

Also, I'd skip the autos in that space unless you already got the seeds. I like growing them but most auto strains actually aren't great for small spaces (with a few exceptions) because you can't decide when to flower, they just do what they want. With a couple of photos you can flip after a couple weeks, or even go 12/12 from seed to keep them small.

Already got the seeds man, also they seem easier from what I’ve read.
This isn’t just my first weed grow but also the first time I’ve grown.. anything!

Well then work with what you got, but here's a few tips. Autos are not easier. If anything they may be more challenging. People think they are easier because you don't have to change their light cycle but that's their only advantage. I've grown mostly photos but have started messing with autos lately and have learned some lessons the hard way.

First, either start in your final pot or up-pot quickly. They throw out a fast taproot and if it bottoms out too early it will stunt their growth or even worse, flower early. A 5L pot won't really cut it for most autos, it's not deep enough. They are often more nute sensitive so go easy on them. If you plant in a good, hot soil they won't need nutes until they start flowering. Also, I'd start with one plant in a 10-12L pot and do some LST to fill out your space. I know it's always tempting to go for more plants, but growing one plant well will give you better results. Plus there's a decent chance one plant fills that space completely if you care for it properly.

Would fabric pot be fine or better in a normal pot?

Both work just fine. I like fabric pots better myself.

That 600w HPS light you linked is way overkill btw. Also that price is for the reflector only, which is the cheapest part. As he others mentioned a 315CMH or 250HPS is your best bet. Should run you around £100 if I did the conversion from US$ right. Tough to get away with spending less than that and still get good results

Screw in household LEDs would work better than most of them cheap blurple lights. :oops:

Look for second hand HPS ballast and bulb and reflector.
