a drip drip drop - drip system users

I don't see any drip system threads here! well drip emitter systems are not necessarily "hydroponic" in the sense of the word but they can be in soil-less mixes. My coco soil is considered a soil less mix and in conjunction with homemade drip system it is basically hydroponic. I have previously done DWC buckets and I love this drip system!

I am dripping from 1gph drippers into 1 gal pots 8 times a day. It was for 5 minutes but there was more run off than I wanted so I downed it to 3 minutes, but I may need to up it to 4 because now there is less runoff than desired

Anyways there are all kinds of drip systems mine uses a water pump and 1/2" line and drip emitters with small tubing and angle drip stakes to feed the roots. since installing the drip system veg has taken off like never before! many feedings per day is the way to go.

well if you use drip like I do feel free to join up and post here your set ups and ideas I'm looking for input from fellow drip system users.

Hey I have a 10 gallon tote, baskets are still being shipped to me so i cant make the outline yet, but they are 5 inch baskets. I have a 186 GPH pump, 2 GPH drippers (I thought 1 gallon was too little (wtf was I thinkin..)Just got my 150 hps light, still need to order mylar once I build my permanent grow frame.what are you using as your grow hut? I was thinking PVC

<--------homemade drip with 2 gallon coleman cooler, 40 gph pump and led lighting in 25x18x35 grow box. looking for teh nugz. bought it all yesterday from my local hydro store and hobby lobby for under or around 40$

stay strong my brotha!! lol yeah don't let them sell you some overpriced b.s. my local is really cool and actually helped me pick and order my led so it's all good there. my res is a tad small at 2 gals but i'm going for super stealth and small.

oo0o how much were the L.E.D.'s?I think 2 gal is TOO super stealth. I have a 10 gal and its pretty dam small and nifty. Dude btw I got the most perfect response for people in stores when they ask what Im trying to do.. I just say "I dont know my friend wanted me to come down here to get parts, this is the list he gave me" or if you dont have a list just say that your friend just told you to get a 'yadda' and a yadda yadda. haha

Nice thread . Do you drain to waste ? You sitting in a flood tray or what ? Pics ,details ? Been thinking of doing the same thing .

word. yeah thats a good idea. it might be too stealth man b/c of the space. i just left a 10 gal rubbermaid res DWC cuz root rot and algea were takin over the res and temps wouldnt stay down but a DRIP on a 10 gal cooler doesnt sound bad at all. my local steered me away from sunshine systems and sent me to advanced led. theyre pricey but well worth it. the extreme flower ufo. it was around 400 gettin it here quick and all. my computer is so fucking old that it wont take my memory card from camera. ill post pics hopefully in the next two weeks

I use a drip system with my soil grow for when i go out of town. How do you get a 40 gph pump to push through drippers? My 450 gph pump won't consistently push through 12 drippers - I had to switch to sprinkler heads as they offer less resistance.



Not using these circles anymore but sprinklers instead.

DUDE put 5 seeds in a papertowel by hotwater tank on monday afternoon and 3 had sprouted today. word. they're domina strain and my guy said not the black dom so idk. got em in rooters now so once again, i'll post pics when i can.

hmmm for my 10 gal I have the drip system and once the roots grow long enough to reach the water I will incorporate the air pump and air stone so the roots underneath dont drown and rot out. did you have an air stone and STILL get root rot?Also what was your growing medium? Im thinking Rockwool since you mentioned the algae. I got my hydroton in the mail coming by. And some dude kept saying "oh dude L.e.d.'s are a waste trust me" but im not sure id rather take advice from someone who actually has USED the L.E.D's ya know? haha

word yeah. i had 2 air stones and the res was still gettin hot_just what i figured_ and the roots were slimy than a motherfucker. i like my cooler idea and am lsting the shit out of this crop. my dominas and one bagseed. ordered a 63watt penetrator to add to the small space. my mom doesn't want me to grow weed BUT she likes muh cock sooooooooo it works out....in a weird way.

oh man! i didnt even think about the heat from the res coming from airstones.. heat woulda caused humidity.. unless i can aireate it somehow so it prevents the air from going stal while still blocking out the light hmmmm....

so THATS why people cool their res water.. if anything i thought the warm water woulda been better..

I have the 357 Magnum LEDS, and have only grown one crop with them - soil, drip - Ive heard a lot of speculation and wariness, but compared to the autos I grew last summer outdoors, the LED grown closet ones came out with significanyl thicker and more colorful buds. I just picked up two EcoGrowers, and planted my first seedlings in the hydroton a few days ago. Fighting a slight mildew problem, and a lack of information on them and/or a similar system, even on here. Go figure. Anyone else experienced with the EcoGrowers? BTW I paid 1400 for 2 357MagnumLED lights. Theyre sweet, but the leds are so frigin expensive it about kills the buzz,.

@HenryDavid and FriendlyGuy - I just had the same problem. Res temps rose to 78 deg for three days, thought the plants would have liked that, but what happened was in the res chamber, got the smell of mildew. Pulled a pot or two, and have found whitish mildew starting to grow far and wide on the cocotek liners. I just reduced the res temp to 63-67 degrees with a crafty fan setup drawing air from outside, and am still running, hoping it stunts or kills the mildew. Also going to follow up with some disease control spray, but wondering how Im going to keep these chambers cool without 100 dollar water chillers in each of them come the summer months.

Id say user the money towards an A.C. and invest in the huge gell ice packs, you gotta admit it sounds like a great idea.. cool plants, cool gell ice packs. put a catcher tray on bottom so the outside res wall can have something to drip on to from that heat-cold plastic exchange.
Edit: shiit you can prob get away with putting the gell packs INSIDE the res lmfao
