A Few GERMINATION Questions.....

hi, so i'm going to start a grow ina week or so and i want some oppions .First off i have 1 successful grow under my belt and 1 failed so far as a result of super acidic / nutrient rich evil soil i got at homebase, I got some good biobizz gear this time round so all should be good.I have had no probs germinating seeds so far using the moist paper towel on a plate with a bowl over it method ,so i will probably go with this ,unless i can be swayed otherwise ,so..

Question 1 - How do personally germinate seeds ?

Question 2 (my main question) - If you wanna grow 2 plants with fem'd seeds ,do you just germ 2 seeds, OR do you need to germinate and plant double or more plants that you want to grow and then kill the weakest ones?

I had abig problem last attempt with just doing 2 at a time and 1 ending up retarded so i had to germ another one which was 2 weeks behind the other one.I ask cause i have a pack of 5 and dunno whether to just plant them all, and pick the 2 strongest ones to flower...

i germed 5 blue cheese in an inch of water with kelp extract 100% success only one died it just aborted it happens. i did the same thing with about 40 bag seeds again 100% but i only used 18 of them. i germed 2 barneys farm sweet tooth 100% success both planted and looking good. at the same time i germed 2 purple seeds in paper towl only one survived both sprouted. im germing another purp right now in kelp extract and water. just put them in a jar on the widow sill works great. all my seeds cracked in 24 hours also i use the scarification method if i dont see anything in 24 hours

hopefuly you can flower all 5 and make one hermie and pollinate one of its sisters(this is better. breeding with ones self leads to a higher chance of hermie)

ok i can tell you y method

first a get some root riot cubes. pre soak them if needed with ph water or a small amount of 1/4 strength rizhotonic. get my seeds place them with the pointy end up. this is far from needed. but will help a little.
i then place them in a humidity done with the temps 75 to 85 and humidity between 80 and 90. gone higher with no problems at all but never gone lower. then place the humidity done into a small grow tent with a led light above to help with temps. heated mats are better. the root roit keeps them in the dark. also lights there as soon as they crack and that it. all pop above ground with in 48 hours and ive always had a 100 percent success. but only done 50. lost one this time. well not lost it. but grown funny lol might be genetic thou. well that's my excuse

Just germinate what you need. I use a folded moist paper towel to germinate, takes about 48 hrs. Just keep it wet and warm. Lights no big problem. Just stick em in the dirt after.

dialing in a good grow cycle takes time. germinate all the seeds and veg them out to however big you want,and then take cuttings and label the plants to match the clones. grow out your seed crop and look for the best plant with the biggest buds and the clone you took from that will be your mother. the clones from the other plants will get you by till you are able to start taking cuttings from the selected mother. in conclusion your first grow will be from seed,the second grow will be from the other clones that you took,and the 3rd grow will be the clones from the mother plant you selected if that makes any sense. good luck!

If u want to grow 2 seeds that are femenized all u gotta do is geminate those seeds then once they pop u put them in the soil and volia

thanks for the info guys , my setup is super ghetto though, its in my closet ,which is big enough for 2 plants ,as much as i would like to have mothers or a perpetual grow i just don't have the space,i'm growing 2 plants ,hopefully get 2 ounces ,maybe more this time as i'm gonna try supercropping.Then start again after maybe a month of a break with no growing as it will prolly piss the mrs off if i go back to back on grows lol

I'm just getting ready to start a new batch, This is what I do. i soak my seeds in water for 12-14 hours. then place them in party cups about 3/4 full of seedling soil. I use black gold brand. I use a poker and make a small divot in the soil place the seed and lightly cover with soil. then with a spay bottle I water just like I would with a full sized plant. you want the soil good and moist but not wet. then place under a 40w flour. 1-3 days later seeds have popped and I'm off to the races. I'm going to do pic's with a time line so I can show this method a little better. I buy seeds and do two at a time. Then take clones to grow.

Yea man b/c wen they are feminized they add a soulution to the seed so that its a guaranteed that its a female, so u jus germ it and grow it or pop it in the soil and let her do her thing.
and we all start out ghetto it helps build character wen it comes to our next design

i am gonna try your method man,i happen to have 2 ,45 watt 6400K cfls .I will place one directly over each pot.May i ask,how long should i keep growing with the cfl then once they pop, i plan on vegging and flowering with my 250 watt hps ,it has a duel spectrum andworks pretty well for both, but i don't know if the seedling would be better off under the cfls for a while?

you would have to watch I can do a little over a month with the 100w lights. You could add the 250 in at about 3 weeks and move the cfl's to the sides. I add a 400w mh at about a month. I keep the 100w cfl's about 3-4" off the tops of the plants a little more if I'm not watching them close. that's my thoughts anyway. Oh, keep your area very warm for the first few days or until they pop. high 70's works for me.
