A 15% tax on everyone would not work. The top 10% need to pay more. The Bush tax cuts have not and will not provide more jobs, that is the bullshit of the righties. A progressive tax is a fair tax, the more one makes the more they pay. Let's look at this further: say I make 50-100K, At the flat 15%, I'd pay 7500-15000., a pretty big bite out of my wages. Leaves me 42,500-85,000. Say someone makes 500K, 15% would leave them 425,000, quite a bit more to live on I'd say. A progressive tax would be say 36%, still leaving them with 320,000, well above the average take home pay, 36% of a million would leave them 640,000, 2 million, 1,280,000, and so on. Does anyone think that is not enough? When Eisenhower, a senseable republican, was president, the top tier payed 91%, so on a million, that would leave 90,000 for the rich dicks to live on. I'd say they should take the 36% and quit their bitchin.
