a few seeds in my buds, any chance they are fem?

I got a few seeds in my regular chemdog, I harvested the plant about 10 days before it being ready. My questions:

are the seeds ready if the bud wasnt fully matured?
what are the chance of them seeds being feminized? ( I guess the plant just hermied normally, no light leak or stress that I am aware of)

They will be either fem or hermy. To know if they're ready, try yourself :D

The seeds coming from the hermaphroditic plant can still go three ways being another hermie, could be a male ( lowest chance not unless you do some environmental stress to make it lean to a male), and could be a female with no hermaphroditic tendencies. Ive had a hermie plant that just produced one seed and a buddy of mine took the seed and did the paper towel method to germinate the next day. The seed appeared dry. I am not sure if there is any info out there scientific or personal experience on how fast seeds can be ready after finding them in a harvest.

i heard your supposed to put them in a bag of rice for a few days then you can go about it the normal way of germination...but check around a bit theres a lot of info on RIU...

I give my fresh seeds a good dry in a dark cool closet (like 2 weeks) then in the fridge. Not sure if the fridge is needed, but read it somewhere that they need a shot of cold to mimic winter(like apple seeds). 100% germination rate, so I stick to what works for me.

That makes sense. I wonder if it really is the case or not.

I looked at each buds carefully, out of 3 oz I got 17 beans, Ill probably find a few more but its not that bad, if they are fem I just saved myself a couple hundred $

I wouldn't bet the farm on them being femanized (not truly femanized that is). Whatever caused the seed can be carried over. If it was from a hermie flower due to stress, it can have not only the hermie trait, but also carry the trigger that caused it to hermie in the first place. There is also a remote chance stray pollen attached itself to you and hitched a ride to the first branch or so that you touched. I would still use them for personal smoke though. If you didn't make them seeded on your own terms, it's kinda a crap shoot on what you get.

yes its all personal use. And harvested too early coze I needed something to smoke. The other chemdog that was next to it seems fine, no seeds. I will inspect the other 4 plants close to being ready. I cant see how I would have gotten pollen in there. I wish the odds were better for fem seeds, the genetics was fine , it was up to 3+oz(dry...) when I chopped but it was still putting on weight, 12/12 from seed

I should have added to last post, it's more of a chance of femanzied if the hermie pollen sac was from a different plant. If the seed came from a hermie flower on same plant it decreases odds of femanized. Again, just for personal. Grow them up.

Sorry bout being long winded. Recently took a huge rip. lol
