Hello RUI,
Hope you all are satisfyingly lifted this evening. I just have a few questions when it comes to the Decarbing process before you cook with Marijuana. I planned on brewing a tea, It's a recipe I have used a few times in the past and has seemed to work the best for me out of all the edibles.
Anyways - the Tea recipe I use: 2/3c H2O, 2/3c Whole Cow-tit Secretion, 10 grams of top-notch yummy ass nuggets out of my home grown hydro stash, 1 tbsp of real butter, not margarine, a actual tea bag or 2 to add flavor + sugar to make it easier on the pallet.
After Decarbing (last time I did what BadKat recommended time wise) - I believe it was something like 240 for 35 minutes, It was a month ago, so forgive me if the numbers are off, what ever she said in the vid is what I used. The thing I notice is - There is tons of opinions on this. One person says 310 for 10-18 minutes, next says 250 for 30, etc - Who is right, and who is wrong, and why is which-ever temp/time combo best?
Secondly, I smoke often out of a vaporizer, typically @ 375. When you decarb weed, it starts to look just like the burnt up vaporized weed, and gets that popcorn smell that vaporized weed has. I 100% saw vapor coming from the MJ and out of my oven when I'd open it, and I'd also smell the same type of smell. I've been told a lil vapor/smell is normal. I checked the temp in my oven and it is correct.
I am so confused on how a vaporizer can remove all the THC from the buds @ 375 with in 5-15 minutes, but 250 for 30 minutes or 310 for 10-18 minutes just "Activates" the THC-A into THC instead of vaporizing any THC inside of the bud, especially with the color it turns, the amount of vapor it puts out, and the popcorn weed smell haha.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Am I wrong in thinking that doing this would decrease your THC content, instead of help activate it? How long am I suppose to decarb for? When is too long? When is too little? What's the rule of thumb to help me get the hang of this haha.
Thank you very much! Have a good evening! Stay medicated
