Not completely out of the question. I'm just trying to keep it micro right now since business is slow (I run my own company). I put myself on a strict strict budget for now. I'm playing things by ear, but I want to make sure I can float my family if business stays slow.it might be easier to get a bigger space. is that out of the question?
I've always been a huge fan of the stealth cabs and PC grows. Thanks for stopping in man.The cabinet is tight, dude. I love to watch grows happen out of stuff like that. I'll be checkin in.

I'm trying to keep as small of a container as possible to keep my plant smaller. But I'll look around the house for another container.Yeah, I'd move it into something bigger soon anyway.
Hey man, good stuff you've got going here! She's (*crossing fingers*) really taking off quickly for a bag seed. How big is the pot she's in now? It looks like about four inches... if you move up to a six incher your root system will have almost four times the volume to play around with but the plant will still stay relatively small. It'll be much much easier to LST with a slightly larger pot once the plant gets a bit bigger, too. Check out Monk0's grow if you haven't yet. I'm not sure what size pot he's using, but his LST job is really pro and it looks like that size would work well for you.I'm trying to keep as small of a container as possible to keep my plant smaller. Hey man! Thanks for stopping in. The container is ~4-4.5 inches. I'm in search of a bigger container now, I've got some issues with my baby. Possible N deficiency, so I'm gonna transplant her out into a bigger container. I'm hoping the fresh Ocean Forest that I'm gonna put it in will help it out. Plus I want the room for LST'ing. I'll definitely check out Monk0's grow. Thanks for the link.Hey man, good stuff you've got going here! She's (*crossing fingers*) really taking off quickly for a bag seed. Have your seeds gotten here yet?! What strain are you popping in the cab? My guess is most of your energy has been on the cab lately and not the PC? I'm still waiting on my LSD seeds... getting pretty pumped to start that new grow. I also decided that I'd like to start a small mushroom cultivation project on the side, so maybe you'll see a picture of that every once in a while in my journal .
No problem! I bet the plant will do well in a bigger space. You should be able to get by with just the nutes in the FFOF, but if indeed you're seeing some N deficiency I wouldn't know what to do in soil anyway . I suppose I should probably figure it out some time soon.Hey man! Thanks for stopping in. The container is ~4-4.5 inches. I'm in search of a bigger container now, I've got some issues with my baby. I'm almost done with the PC but I'm letting someone borrow it whenever they pick it up. They need a place to grow for the time being. I'm still waiting on my seeds unfortunately, hoping they didn't get jacked by customs. Barney's LSD is supposed to be siiiick. I've been wanting to grow that for awhile. Is it going to fit in your setup?! Even though my other seeds haven't come I already want to order a new pack. I'm thinking of getting a full pack of TGA Vortex and growing one at a time in my cabinet but with a scrog. I know one at a time is a pain in the ass but I'm actually hoping to get some males, since I won't have females at the same time, I can save some of the sweet pollen to produce Vortex seeds later (and maybe a few crosses of my own ).
I'm gonna give it a bigger home today (hopefully!). I'm not sure whether I should flush it or not. Maybe after transplant I should flush since I'll need to water anyway. I have some decent fertilizer I'm using, but I'm gonna hold off until the second watering after transplant. That will give me enough time to see what the fresh FFOF does for me. I'm thinking it might also be nutrient lockout because not only is it yellowing, but it's growth seems to be stunted. It hasn't grown for a few days (hoping it's not permanently affected it).No problem! I bet the plant will do well in a bigger space. I can't wait to see what you can do with the LSD in your case. That's gonna be sweet. Have you looked into the semi-vertical (not sure what it's called actually) scrog? Essentially instead of having the horizontal scrog screen, it's in the shape of a V. Then train it upwards on each side. Maximizes your light reach. I think it would be a good experiment for a PC case. I'm not sure if you could do it without seriously modifying your setup since your CFL is so freaking big haha. I may actually do it when I get my case back.Ahh, how generous! Very good way to get him hooked to the hobby . I think I'll be fine with the LSD; according to the blurb on Attitude, the plant stays short (finishes ~60cm) and bushy, so I'll be able to ScrOG it down pretty well. I'm also only planning on vegging for ~4 weeks in my PC, so it will be a bit smaller than a "full-grown" plant. My main concern currently is how best to transfer a plant that has been vegging for 4 weeks in my PC case to the tent -- mostly in regards to the ScrOG. I've contemplated ScrOGging in my PC as usual to "flatten out" the plant and get it ready for a horizontal life in the tent, or perhaps just let it grow and LST it a bit if it gets too close to the lights, and then re-arrange branches and ScrOG on the go in the tent. I'll have a bit more room between the plant base and the ScrOG screen in the tent (6-8" vs 4"), so I'm not sure which is the better option.
I can't wait man. I posted a thread in subcool's organics subforum asking which of his strains are shortest (aka do best in cabs). He said Deep Purple followed by Querkle followed by Vortex. I was originally thinking of picking up a 10 pack of Vortex but I might order from single seed center and do like 6 Vortex, and 3 each of the DP and Querkle. You know... variety is the spice of life haha.Ooh man, that TGA Vortex looks sooooo amazing. Mm, according to Attitude: "smells like Mango Snapple with lemon/ Taste like sweetened lemonade." Perfect. And I especially like the description of the parents: "Both parents have a similar pungent, rotten fruit, baby poo smell." Very nice. I think this might be next on my list.
If you want to get a jump on breeding check out the later chapters of The Cannabis Grow Bible by Greg Green. Fantastic chapters on simple breeding (crossing to get more seeds) all the way to creating true breeding strains and locking down genotypes/phenotypes. After you take your class if you want get further into it, check out Marijuana Botany, An Advanced Study: The Propagation and Breeding of Distinctive Cannabis. It would definitely be cool to get into making some crosses. I still need to take a few more biology credits, so I decided that next year I'll take a botany course and a course called something like "Techniques of Plant Breeding" which may be relevant/cool.
Looking good! The root system looks healthy -- I wouldn't be too worried about having waited a while. From the looks of things (yellow leaves, red leaf stems, relatively even coloration), I'd be leaning towards nitrogen deficiency. Hopefully the fresh soil will take care of the problem in the next few days!Ok guys, finally got around to transplanting my baby. Not sure exactly how large the new container is because it's something I had laying around in the garage (took me long enough to find it haha).
I hope I didn't do any irreparable damage by waiting this long to transplant. I noticed today that there was actually some new growth in the past day or two, albeit not the healthiest.
Good vibes everyone.
Hmm, yes. I haven't necessarily thought about it for my case, but it's pretty obviously one of the more efficient ways to ScrOG. If a screen is split in the middle and each half is tilted up only thirty degrees, surface area is increased by a factor of 2/sqrt(3) (approx. 1.15) and at forty-five degrees it increases by a factor of sqrt(2) (approx 1.4). I can't see it really working out in my computer case because of space issues and my giant CFL, but it's definitely something to look into for my tent. I could gain almost 100 sq. in. (.7 sq. ft.) with a forty-five degree tilt! But then again you'd have to account for the fact that not all of the room can be equally used (towards the middle of the V for example). A lot of the rooms I've seen with variable-height ScrOG screens are in a "stadium" setup (i.e. a really wide bowl shape around the light). This actually makes the most sense to me, but 16" square isn't very much room. I could probably calculate the optimal curvature of my screen based on how far away from my light it's going to be, but I really can't see it being too significant in this small of a space. We'll see.I can't wait to see what you can do with the LSD in your case. That's gonna be sweet. Have you looked into the semi-vertical (not sure what it's called actually) scrog? Definitely. I'd go for variety any day! You can always keep a mom .I can't wait man. I posted a thread in subcool's organics subforum asking which of his strains are shortest (aka do best in cabs). Thanks for the recommendations . We'll see what kind of reading time I have over break! If you want to get a jump on breeding check out the later chapters of The Cannabis Grow Bible by Greg Green. If you wanna hit me up in PM I can shoot you over a copy of both.
It's definitely possible based on the age of your plant. Granted, there was the small setback, but it appears to be improving. They sure do look like pre-flowers! *crosses fingers*Is it possible that I could showing pre-flowers already?
