A moment of your time if you will

Hello! I would like a little advice on my plants. I think they are growing a bit slowly, for reference those pots are about 3 inches wide. I'm not quite sure exactly what type of light I'm using, i think its some kind of full range jobby, probably a pretty whack one. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me exactly what type of light it is, if they can tell from the photo.

I think they are quite healthy, a touch of transpiration on the leaves perhaps ? maybe I'm just getting a bit inpatient!

Would really appreciate any and all advice/reassurance! anyone can give me

Not an expert, but it looks like you let the plants stretch way too much... Gotta get 'em closer to the light source

i can't tell what type of light it is sorry, no good at that stuff.

but i'd move it closer or get more if i were you, looks like those seedlings are getting a wee bit stretched.

I've seen people grow with that light. I think its a type of cfl's. So it will work, but like everyone else has said, you want those plants quite a bit closer to the light. Like 3-5"

That light is more than good enough for te seedlings..however move the light closer..As close as you can without having the plants die of heat stress..How old are the plants at the time of the pic?

Get the light closer, water less, and start thinking about getting more light for them, because they will only get bigger.

wow, what a response, thanks everybody.... some good advice there, i'm getting the feeling i should moove the light a bit closer in!

I will do that, I've got a 600w HPS and 600w MH but they are hot and i'm sure would burn the plants from over a foot away. This light is only noticeably warm on your hand till about 3 inches away, which is about where it is but the leaves are starting to curl slihtly which i think means they are getting too hot?

I did just water, but perhaps i am overwatering, i shall cut down!

I think the plants are about 10 days older give or take.

Thanks again everybody

With the metal halide, I think the distance from the tops is 18 inches. But these are too young for such light, you're right.

i used a 600W hps for this stage too.

i wouldn't advise putting the lamp within 3 inches of the plant, as you said it's too hot. i learned the hard way. burnt some leaves but it's all good now.

had my lamp about 1 - 1/2 foot away maybe.

Yes,if youre hand strats to feel like theyr burning,or if you cant CONFORTABLY keep them there for a few minutes, than it is too hot..usually its a foot, maybe less if the light is aircooled.

Lighting is key, your seedlings will thrive if you give them enough. Stretching is caused by a lack of lighting, bump it up and have good ventillation and your plants are fine. They don't seem to be so bad yet that you should scratch them, but if they are bagseed I would say go for it, either that or just plant them deeper.
