Not saying you're implying kids do drugs..just making a correlation between your statement and a small sized user..an 80 will get a user well..a casual user would be sucking their toes as we all know...
I understand they didn't use meth(well maybe, but not when they died) ..you asked if heroin users put some glass in their shots..yes they do..also use coke,to mediate the nod..so they are lucent and can enjoy the heroin without passing out through the majority of the effects...coke,crack,meth,coffee,nicotine....all very welcome by addicts...canndo,don't think a mg per lb of body weight sounds advisable..perhaps over a lengthy adjustment of usage..but I couldn't imagine my 12 year old eating an o.c. 80,much less snorting one...her or any other sized human...I severely hope she never sees one.
Slipping into a coma is an effect, whereas the cause being the overdose. At this point the damage is done and new problems have arrived. No to answer your question. But the Narcan would have prevented the coma in the first place. This is why they are trying to have this drug more easily available, as a preventive measure.Scenario:
Somone overdoses on OxyContin, goes into a coma, Narcan will save them?
In Chicago, Illinois we can get it for free from Chicago's Recovery Alliance. They provide needles, cookers, filters, water, HIV testing, and Narcan(actually it's Naloxone but it's the same thing just generic)...all for free. For the Narcan they use to make you watch a short video detailing how to use it, or they would give you a free dvd so you could bring it home and just watch it there. CRA goes to different locations throughout the city and the suburbs during the week. You can log onto their website and it has the schedule of where they will be and at what time. They also do deliveries for free as well. You just call the number and set up a meeting spot. It's a great organization that's saved many people not only from OD's by giving Narcan out for free but also saved people from HIV and such by giving out free clean needles.Narcan is the antidote to opioid overdose yet it isn't available. When seconds count 911 takes minutes. Narcan can't be abused, the only thing making it available will do is reduce the number of pointless deaths. I am only alive because some had acquired some and used it to save my life. If I have helped you in anyway or taught you anything please sign this.

But wait - this "sends the wrong message". right? It sends the message that life is precious and everyone deserves as many chances to be as they wish or as they aspire as they have time enough in their lives. The longer we help them avoid finality the more chances they get to get it right in their lives. Yeah, it's the wrong message sent by those who believe that life is only precious when it resides in the womb.In Chicago, Illinois we can get it for free from Chicago's Recovery Alliance.
