A potentially dumb question about stealth

I fear this might be a dumb question, but it has crossed my mind more than once, so I thought I'd see what you guys think.

I don't live in a big city, so no grow stores for me. I have to buy equipment and nutes online, but for soil, perlite, pots, rooting hormones, etc., I go mainly to local nursies. We're talking small, personalized places here, so inevitably someone always asks to help me. With my perlite, worm castings, rooting compound, and potting soil, I feel like I might as well be wearing a "Hey, Ask Me About My Marijuana Garden!" t-shirt. Paranoia, I know, but I want to be prepared to throw out a smokescreen if necessary or warranted. So here's my question:

What the hell might I be growing besides marijuana?

I really have no experience with growing anything else (and only a little experience growing mj), so I don't want to say "tomatoes," for example, if tomatoes need none of this shit. So what's the best fruit, plant, flower, etc., that I can hold up as my hobby in order to hide my real hobby?

Anything man don't sweat it. Peppers, herbs and spices, or yes even tomatoes. Say you cook a lot and like your own fresh organic ingredients.

Bro your being paranoid. These nursery owners coudnt give a shit what u do with it ,they know dope growers are good cash paying customers who always come back if they dont get ask q. Most of them are old hippies anyway.Tell them its for your grandfathers vege patch if they get a little 'helpfull'. Also tell them to load it into your car as you have a bad back.

Why not actually try growing some veggies or flowers. It's good times, really.

definitely tomatoes man, probably the most similar to marihuana, and I actually agree with sk'mo, you could grow a tomato plant, easier than growing mj and delicious
