A question about tents within larger rooms...

OK, so I have a 5x5 tent, with some led lights, and a cmh I inherited from a grower buddy of mine. (with intake and exhaust fan, oscillating fan, and I already have plants in this tent....this tent is within a room that is ten foot long, and 10 foot wide, so there is quite a bit of space AROUND the tent...

My question is this: If I have good ventilation going through the tent (intake fan, exhaust fan) can I keep the door to this room closed? if not, how would I exhaust air without letting light in...

Yes you can close that room door.

Unless it's a sealed room you shouldn't have any issues.

The fan will pull fresh air from the room through the tent.

Thanks for the response! Sealed room? Like, air tight?

This is just your standard bedroom.

Cool, will keep that closed to keep light out, have the window polyed up, so I think I am set.

Ya an air tight room would be the only reason to leave door opened, or you would need to supplement with co2

Many growers are exhausting into the rooms they grow in

Not sure why it would be an issue for this guy?

He will be opening the door every day to check the plants, shouldn't that. BE enough to dissipate the built up heat?

He will see. Summer is coming in the Northern hemisphere.

I am asking for my own grow room as well, not trying to be smart or wise ass

I will also have similar issues as my tent is in a small room

Summer months I'm guessing he can use his window. To exhaust through?

My plan is to go through the wall and run my exhaust outside during the warm months.

The LEDs aren’t putting out much heat. Depends on the wattage of the CMH.
You can run some ducting out of one of the ports with a bend or two if you’re worried about light.

I'm running a ViparSpectra Par 600 LED light in a 2x3 tent that was in a closet. Someone closed the closet door for the day once and my digital thermometer read that it got up to 104F in there. The girls were not happy. Now it's out in the main part of the room with the bedroom door closed and the room is warm-ish. Thermometer reads 82F most of the time with the lights on. The rest of the house is 68F. So the LEDs do still put out some heat you have to get out of there.

As far as exhausting through a window, depends on where you are and if stealth is a necessity.

I intake and exhaust my tents in the same room. Like @hotrodharley said, with the door closed, heat and humidity builds pretty fast. Either leave the door open or vent out the window

Everything is exhausted out of the room during the day, Keeping temps and humidty ideal.

My question is more based around the night period...

With the tent still venting in and out. (Exhaust fan on, intake fan on), do I need to vent the ROOM that the tent is in?

The room is ten foot by ten foot. The tent is 5x5

Is there enough fresh air in this room to keep things "ok", or will I need to vent the actual room at night?

Yeah...that's what I figured. Didn't seem humid or smell moldy or "dank" when I opened it up in the mornings. So I suppose that's a good sign lol! Thankfully I live in an area that is naturally arid.
