Good Day. I am a new grower, this is my 1st attempt. I am growing 2 autoflowers in a 2'x4'x5' tent. I am using an AC Infinity Cloudnine T4 inline fan (205 CFM) w/ an AC Infinity charcoal filter. I was planning to purchase a 2nd AC Infinity filter to have as a back up or to even use in a tent for drying/curing. I have been reading on here lately, both in the newbie forum and the general grow forum of some people complaining about odor even w/ setups similar to mine. I have read that the filters can be placed at either end of the exhaust fan. I do vent the tent I'm growing in into the room it's housed in. The vent is next to a window which has a box fan that pulls air through the room from the front of the house to the back, there is always airflow. Discretion is important to me, I don't have kids, but my neighbors do. Does anyone have experience w/ using charcoal filters on both ends of the exhaust fan? Is that overkill? I would prefer to err to the side of caution. Would having a filter at both ends reduce the efficiency of the fan to the point of making it ineffective? I have learned a lot from this site and I appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Thanks for the response. I have read the same thing. That's kind of where my concern comes in. My tent vents right in front of the box fan. The box fan pulls that warm air out of the room. Now that it's summer where I live, I don't want to out myself by dropping skunk all over the neighbors kids playing in the back yard. I was curious about scrubbing the air coming out of the tent a second time. Pulling it in through a filter inside the tent and pushing it out through another filter outside the tent before pulling it out of the house.

Stand alone scrubber. Econo fan with filter runs 24x7 in my 4x8x8. Adjust speed control as low as possible while still keeping tent odor down. Full speed 24/7 would be overkill, for my space.
Both, odor control and particulate filtration.
Also, use carbon filter on exhaust fan.

Thanks for the idea. I was able to pick up a cheap fan, which is severely underpowered, but is perfect to scrub my tent. Cheers.
I am building a room and was going to use the same 2 fan/ 2 filter set up for odor and temp. Do you find it effective? I was going to go larger than recommendations, my wife hates the smell. Thanks for sharing.

No odor problems primarily by running the scrubber.
Also, I'm using economy carbon filters. Fortunately they do the job, or I would upgrade to a better filter.

The scrubber made a big difference in my tent. I set it up while one plant was in veg and the other was just starting to flower. Now both plants are flowering and there is only the slightest odor when the tent is first opened up. It is easily contained to the room that it's set up in. Unlike TE, I paid a little more for my main exhaust fan and carbon filter, but discretion was important so I was OK w/ a little overkill, since I added the scrubber I have been able to dial back the main exhaust fan about 20% instead of running it wide open all the time. At the very least, it doesn't sound like I'm testing jet engines in my attic anymore! Good Luck.

If you smoke in your house, wont your neighbors smell it? I can't smell my plants at all with my setup, but if I smoke a joint, I can smell weed outside my house no problem
If I smoke in the house w/ the windows open, it will smell outside, but not at all while the windows are closed. There are plenty of people in my neighborhood who smoke, I smell it outside all the time, I even smoke outside in my backyard or in my garage. Smelling ganj for 15-20 minutes because you blew a joint is one thing, smelling it nonstop for a month and a half is a whole different animal in my opinion. This is my 1st attempt at growing, I don't really know what to expect. All the reading can't replace 1st hand experience. Hopefully I'll be less uptight on my next attempt.
