Im a Noob Farmer on my first grow and I have a couple questions for you seasoned growers.

1. How do you gradually decrease your light cycle from your Veg phase to the Flowering phase?

I currently am veging at 24hrs light, and was thinking i should gradually decrease light 2 hours every 2 days untill i reach 12:12 light and dark am i on the right path?

2. When is it time to start the flowering?

I have been growing one plant from seed and it has been growing since Nov 12, so its been growing for little over 2 months now and is just under 2 ft tall. Also I am noticing Lots of little buds starting to form with white hairs coming out. I dont think its time to flower yet but i dont know... hence me asking you guys!

I could post photos if that would help in your advice, just let me know.

Cheers

Ya dnt have to gradually lower the lights to 12x12. Just switch them to 12x12.

Flower time can be started when the plant is mature. Yours is mature so ya can start flowering.

I AM NO PRO!

uh...flower that bitch. she' ready and doing it herself sounds like
Not exactly. They are just preflowers, which show that the plant is now mature. It will be fine to flower now, but you have the option of leaving it in veg for longer, if you would like the plant to be bigger.

How big you should grow it depends on what lights you are using, what your growspace dimensions are, whether you use any training methods, and how long you want to wait for a harvest. Personally, i like to fill the entire growspace before flowering.

Ok I Better get rep for this.... You want to just switch to 12/12.. DON"T ween your plant off the light. you want it to be forced into flowering. not like in nature. plus your plant can triple in flower. you should have veged for 4 weeks and topped then flowered for 10 weeks. you can stil grow but tie it down ( supper crop ) it will be a big plant!

seeing as its starting to flower[ lots of little buds starting to form with white hairs] you should probably have youre clock already on 12/12.

2 months is a pretty average legnth the growers veg, and you can pretty much veg as long as you want as long as you keep you light on above 16 hours a day. The longer your veg. cycle the taller the plant will get.

gradually shortening the light schedule is a nice idea, but ive never personally payed too much attention to that. if it were the case i would begin decreasing the light by 2 hours every two day as you said until you reach 12 hours. do this within a week or two before you begin to flower.

leaving the light on 24 hours has its ups and down also. doing this may make the plant more bushier compared to its height. although its good to leave it on 24 hours for a couple weeks in the beginning stages of its growth but i suggest you change to the 18/6 ratio. 18 being light 6 being darkness. do this around the 4th week or so.

hope this helped somewhat
