A Real Grow that I Made Up: Super Skunk

85 on the temps? I've heard some folks say 90, some mid 80's...Seems to hit 85 right around the middle of the day, fan blowing on them constantly, the heat will go away soon enough I think. The growth pace seems alright, I honestly don't think it is 85 where the plants are, I will put the therm on their level and see what it reads for tomorrow...We'll see.

Moved the lights down a bit (and the plants were placed on a makeshift table to raise them. Second real leaf set just starting, light is about 15" away. No water.

Temps 73-83. Humidty 42-50.

Nice setup man, i have that exact same tent except mine is a little bigger i think. I just upgraded my lighting system to a 400 Watt HPS. How much did you pay for that inline fan? I really want to get one, but they are pricey. I am 26 days flowering right now, i think my girls are gonna love that new 400 WATT HPS if i can keep the temps down.

But anywho i am gonna watch your grow man. Hope it turns out just as good if not better than your first grow!

lookin good, if your still trying to stick to the organic route you should know that fox farm grow big is not organic rather its organic based... which i think means it doesn't use all natural products it uses some processed minerals but it doesn't use any chemicals or harsh stuff like that (this goes for tiger bloom and the fox farm solubles as well). also you should look into using a little molasses during flowering, it is said to increase bud density and weight.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm hoping this one works out well. Your plants are going to eat up that HPS, really watch for those things to fatten up!

The inline fan was about $40 w/shipping on ebay. I think it retails right around $130-150? Ebay and craigslist will have all kinds of building supplies and exhaust fans can be found fairly cheaply. Keep searching and you'll find a reasonable price.

Totally forgot to mention it in the first post, but I did use molasses once I was into flowering. Just heated up some water, diluted the molasses into that (too thick otherwise), dumped it in with my nute solution, plants loved it and it makes the solution smell nice, even though there is shit in there (literally) - I noticed a big difference in density and will be using it again on this grow.

Sidenote: Does this Molasses seem a bit racist? See attached photo...

Hey i was wondering about that, i too am using molasses but i thought mixing it in with my ferts (fed every other feeding AN Big Bud) would be too much, i did not want to over feed the girls, but you say you used it in combo with your fertz? No problems huh?

I would think it should be fine as long as you are ph'ing you solution AFTER you add EVERTHING into the mix. The molasses shouldn't interfere with your flowering nutes, but anyone can feel free to contradict this.

Right on thanks man, i def ph my water i have been using PH UP and PH DOWN, man that is sensitive stuff! I have a digitial PH Meter and just a drop or 2 changes the whole Gallon of water. Any suggestions, i need to get an eye dropper, and do you know how long you have to wait for the PH to adjust? The label says 24 hours, and it does seem to be different 24 hours later...not too sure, what is everyone else's method?

Plants seem to be doing great, minus one sort of Corky-runt. This is the one that was slow going from Day One - it finally started getting second leaf set today. Problem is...it's a little deformed. Not a little, a lot. I assume it is just a 'birth defect' if you will. I'll keep it alive, take care of it just the same (minus the jokes behind its back.) You can't really see the claw hands in the pic, but you get the idea by comparing it to a healthy plant.

Temps lower today, averaging about 79. Humidity was 30-40, a bit low, I'll put a little tub of water in the tent to raise it a tad.

No water again today, they'll get some tomorrow. Thirsty bitches.

My ph method is pretty budget...Just some up/down drops and a little sample tube where I can tell the result by color (after adding some other drops.) I think this is the cheapest/most widely available method. Worked for me, but I didn't have sensitive plants.

Same things im using on my SupeR Skunk plants to measure PH

Gave the young 'uns some water today. I probably should measure the amount I am giving them, keep track, but I just use common sense. Plants seem to let you know what they need and when they need it.

Runt still growing...deformed as ever.

Third leaf set just starting to form on a few plants. They are all fairly uniform (minus runt) as far as growth rate.

I am thinking about trying LST with these kids. Seems to really fit my level of lighting and space. I really had to work with side CFL lighting to help out the lower bud sites that the 400W couldn't reach. LST seems to promote an even canopy that would help solve this. Thoughts / Comments / Concerns would be great on this...

Found these photos in my neighbors mailbox...

Skipped a few days in the grow journal, plants were basically holding steady, no real news to reports. Figured I would wait a few days until the pictures made a difference.

So, Day 11 - watered again with the plain water, no nutes until after this week. I'll start off with a really light dose of Grow Big, see how they react. The weird looking plant is still kicking, check out the pic, venture a guess. I really think it was just bad from the get go - all the other plants seem to be doing well. Lights are at 13". Temps go between 70-83.

Spider Mites for that ass!

Sucks. I didn't experience this at all last grow - probably due to the fact it was winter. I saw some speckles on two of the plants, not a whole lot, but enough. Investigated and found some mites. I cleaned the plants with mild dish soap and water, rinsed them. This was yesterday, as of today, I haven't noticed any more spots, but I did order a SMALL amount of Floramite (so goddamn expensive), which I heard works wonders. That and some neem oil should keep them at bay. I will up the sanitation efforts, making sure I change clothes and shower before I open up the tent. No more kitty in the tent either. Fuck these mites.

Otherwise, things are looking great! Plants healthy, growing third leaf set. Temps have been a bit high (averaging about 81-83). I have noticed slowed growth but there isn't that much I can do about it right now. It's hot.

To be specific, it was about 100g average between the three. If you look at the pics towards the end of the grow (first post) you'll see one of the plants is about twice the size of the other two (in the photo, the tall lady is about four weeks into flowering, imagine her swelling up...) The two smaller did about 75g each, the plant that is growing above the light was 120g. No pics dried, didn't have a camera at the time - harvest buddy took those shots.

Didn't use any co2 or crazy fert combo, just FF big bloom, molasses, and ph'd water. I only had three plants so I was able to treat them well, they didn't have to fight for light or space. The seed guy at the Sensi Shop said it would be a smooth ride for a first timer and I took his word. Glad I did.

Looking great legasaurs, what week are you at? Is that an aeroponic system you're running? Plants look very similar, your internode spacing seems a little tighter which is a plus for you. I've noticed that the Super Skunk's leaves fold inwards a bit in a way that the Maple Leaf was much more broad and flat. I see it in your pictures and as these ladies are getting older I am noticing it in them as well.
