A Super Soil>Roots Organic base but with RG Tupur instead of Bizz light mix

Hey I'm new!
I have some bags of Royal Gold Tupur and was thinking about using them in my Roots base soil and super soil as a substitution for the portion of the BioBizz light mix in Subcool's recent recipe.

Tupur contains coco,humus,oyster shell,perlite and azomite.

1. is this an alright idea? or should i just pony up for some biobizz light mix and not complicate things?

2. if its okey dokey, should it keep the dry amendments to the same ratios in the recipe? or should I tune down the azomite in the SS recipe and tune down something in the recipe for the oyster shell present in the Tupur?

I just had a hughly successful grow with Miracle Grow Moisture Control I got from Lowes. Really holds water well but drains just as good as regular potting soil. Cheap, plentiful and easy to get. Too bad week wasn't that way.

thx for the suggestion im already sitting on 12 bags of roots and all the fixins except the bizz light

you can use just roots you don'y need to add the bio bizz, if I'm not mistaken most use just roots

U can use roots but add a lil of the Royal gold. There's only one way to find out how good it is. Have fun

I spoke to Royal Gold today. They were very helpful. I asked about their nutrient analysis and the guy let me know the nutrient content concerning the Oystershell and Azo is near negligible and there no need to adjust my super soil nutrient ratios. He then went on to ask me about what else i was doing with my soil and we had a nice conversation all in all.

I'm using roots for sure as the bags are sitting right here next to me
6 bags roots + 3 cuft tupur for my base and i'm doing the same for the SS.

Award for worst advice on the thread lol...dude don't go around telling ppl to use delay release garbage Mg...I mean since you had Hugh helping you i'm sure it worked great but most of us don't have hughly helping

Hey - it works. I'm smoking the proof my friend. And I get a bit tired of the type of guy, like yourself, that thinks if it isn't expensive it ain't worth shit.

Lol here you go again thinking I put some kind of stock in how expensive a product is...it may have worked fine but use better quality equipment and your grow would have been even better than it is..you will evolve your technique one day and see i'm very right...btw I pay about 60 bucks for enough dirt to fill about 14 5 gallon pots...same price as Mg probably less even...ya I also spend money on real nutes which you may not have to so add about 30 bucks...change up your game man don't take this as me being a Dick I speak only truth you will be happier with the outcome if you change it up

I mean driving with one eye closed works too but both eyes works better

Thanks - I've tried the 'boutique' soils and they're no better. But I appreciate your point of view.

True - but using your logic not even two eyes would be good enough since eye-wear exists that enhances vision. Oh no, got to have those babies.

I don't post here much, usually just creep on the bud porn, but this is something that I dealt with when I made my first batch of super soil. I started off my mixture using only roots for my base without a lighter mix, but it seemed really dense and heavy. My first two grows with the roots only mix were way too hot and didn't want to drain properly. With the roots only mix, my plants were super dark green (too dark) and the leaves were always clawing downward. I even had some nanners on a flav that never showed any stress once in a lighter mix and also at my friend's house in hydro. I ended up buying some seedling mix (ff light warrior, black gold seedling mix, etc) and cutting my roots only super soil mix until it was less dense and a bit lighter feeling. Since cutting my mix, all of my runs have been perfect. My plants are always pointing straight up, perfect green color, perfect fade time, and great taste! Maybe I fucked something up making my first mix, but I made sure to double/triple check my measurements, so I couldn't have been that off. I know a lot of people do use roots only though, so I'm sure its probably a different experience for each person's grow.

hey mdogg thnx for adding. im using the roots tupur mix. its mostly perlite and coco so the mix is light. im almost at 3 weeks since i planted in rooters. thinks are looking cool but some leaves have a touch of yellow but they still are growing and look healthy. I do have to mention that i did add neem cake for pest prevention so that may the cause of this bit of burn. leaves on my querkles are on the dark side but the plushberry and ribbed bubba look normal. this shit is super fun--first timer here
