Yuh, a big ass flood light. I want to make my grow like the actual outdoors (make the plants feel less like machines), so my plan is to use (600-800W) floro during the morning and evening as a softer light, then during the plants (noon) hours, I'm going to blast it with the heat and watts of the halogen. And at the end of veg I will use the halogen full time with the floro (And I'm getting a 1000w HPS/MH switchable system soon), then when flower time comes around I'll blast it with the HPS on top, and the floro/halogen will light up the lower branches. I feel like plants are like regular people. They react well to being treated like regular people, and being treated well. They react badly to being stalked or being under appreciated.
you must be smoking some really good bud mate

Good. Just got my lights plus a new 400W halogen, and my renewal should be coming in the mail any day. So I'm legal to grow and possess, even though I'm not 21. Everyone that's 21 in Colorado can have 6 plants and 1 oz though now. Happened Dec 11th. And I'll be 21 in January (on inauguration day), so I'll be able to work for dispensaries soon :D :D That would be AWESOME. But I need to get some better grow videos, and some MORE hash videos up so the dispensaries can see what I can do :D
 400 watt halogen, huh... oh my..lol

I know halogens aren't ideal, I just won't have my metal halide yet. If I had my metal halide by then I would just do that. But I won't have a metal halide for a while, my HPS/MH system is only going to come with an HPS bulb. It just can accept both. But the halogen will do what I need it to do.

I recently had extremely good success growing Hawaiian/Cotton Candy under two 500-watt halogen lamps. The yield was 100 grams and the quality was excellent. The lights are much less expensive than HPS lamps. What is the difference between the two?

High pressure sodium lamps emit at least seven times more light than halogen lamps. A garden growing under a 1000-watt HPS lamp is expected to yield one pound or more. Your garden, using the same amount of electricity, yielded one tenth as much.

The initial cost of the halogen bulb is much cheaper than an HPS lamp. However, when the cost of generating light is considered, HPS lamps are much cheaper. For every dollar you spend on electricity for lighting using a halogen bulb, you pay only 14 cents or less using an HPS lamp.

In addition to the cost of electricity, consider the space being used and most importantly your time. You expend essentially the same effort to produce 100 grams rather than 400-500 grams. That alone makes a small harvest considerably more expensive than a large one.
