A Tip which increases production , potency , and Time

On healthy Strong plants...can i suggest a few things, bend those stems by crushing with your thumb and finger the stem 1/3 the way on the stem, so if your plant is 30 cm you start bending at 10cm, crush lightly first the stem, soften it up then bend the tip towards the soil, by crushing the stem first , softening it by lightly crushing the stem, it wont snap after this, it will lift its self towards the light over the next day and heal stronger , bend every stem so at the end its pointing down, i know it seems harsh but the plants will be fine ,they will heal and lift themselves in a day or 2, the reason for this is it affects hormones (auxins mostly but a few others)in the plant a bit like tipping a plant in veg, after you have done this apply a strong potassium silicate water, triple strength. i like Flairforms Silikamagic, this will harden the stems in that position. you will gain around 15% extra yield if not more, and much more potency. keep bending the stems down every 5 days, using the same method, This should start in veg, but if in flower dont touch the white hairs of the flower, crushing the stems works much like girdling of fruit in a orchard. and you expose more of the bud to the light. in the last week stop bending, bending should start in veg and end very early flower.
also remove half of the fan leaves the ones with stems, the ones at the very top not the bottom , preferably this is done on the flip to 12/12.

dont lollipop , remove fan leaves top down, leaves feed carbohydrates upwards, not downwards ,keep your solar panel low, in other words you need a full leaf cover low in the canopy, below your budding stems , but budding stems need leaves removed so light penetration can stimulate bud growth sites.

If you use potassium silicate you will not need support to carry heavy buds and you dont need big plants to yield, any plant over 50 cm is not a good return for time.

I laughed so hard at this. I grow my plants big, they get around 50 days veg from clone. I end up pulling a little over 4 pounds a plant indoors. Definitely not poor return, in fact without the veg time I wouldn't get nearly as much off my plant count or even my rooms. I use the side canopy and get fat colas all around. You could check the grow in my signature if you wanna see an indoor grow that doesn't have a "good return on time"

50 days veg from clone and you’re pulling 4 POUNDS off of ONE plant??

o_O

I want to know more about your setup lol that’s insane.

Great work with the grow, your sure have ample side lighting, whats the penetration and quality in the centre though? , whats is your power bill cost a month?

You do have a lot of space for side lighting the big plants that could otherwise could be growing plants instead, as does the extra wattage needed to side light big plants.

Space does have a cost too and goes towards return for time I talk about. If it works for you keep doing it.

I stand corrected. As they say there is many ways to skin a cat :)

Monster plants. Went through his thread. Dude is def growing monsters. I had my doubts until
I read your thread @Renfro. Doubted your claims at first but I see you are doing your thing. Enjoyed your thread!

Things is watts = grams. Therefore anyway we can make more area to light with more watts (ie: side canopy) will increase yield. Gotta spend money to make money. Now my sides yield like tops making it worthwhile to grow them big indoors. Adding a 400 watter on the end of a row for me adds about a pound lol of large colas. So yeah, big power bill = big yields if done right.

I dont know what a cm is but plants of any size benefit from training. Some of us prefer monsters in the closet. Kinda sucks only get to smoke 3 strains a year (that don't come through the mail) but 1-5 lb plants are the best quality smoke. Veg has a lot to do with quality I theorize that's one of hundreds of reasons dispensary weed is trash. Flower 8 weeks why not veg 8 weeks, figure your shit out and it's no extra time at all.

Where are the links to this it's sounds amazing! Thx

After Just 10 days veg, seedlings , its not easy to get light penetration from top lighting, these plants are about 45 cm high in a 90cm x 90 cm tent and im already struggling for light penetration after a heap of leaf defoliation, with HLG 550s, why would i grow my plants higher? there are 2 plants in the picture , fem seeds . photo taken today IMG_20190930_171605.jpg

Light isn't gonna penetrate through leaves. If you wanna light up the floor really good just trim off some fan leaves. Personally I wouldn't because there isn't much below there except dirt.

When running several smaller plants in a sea of green you don't need to veg them long but a little longer would have increased yields significantly. Thing is yeah the plant is taller but the real key is that means the buds will be bigger. You can just prune off any lower branches that don't get light or defoliate or add some side lighting when space permits.

I guess my point is you have to prune off branches that you used energy and time to grow.

Here in the photo there is no losses , everything grown will reap Quality Production.

I will have solid colas almost to the ground you might be surprised by the yield with just 10 days veg on seedlings.

some of these buds will be as large as my arm once finished.

Ive done 5 heavy leaf defoliation to get to this point. meaning Ive removed every fan leaf with a stalk

In general garden centre potting mix nothing too fancy
