A very stupid question about growing.

Okay many of you will think I am a idiot for asking this or why the hell I would actually ask this type of questions. Anyways theoretically if I bought seeds, germinated them, planted them in a pot. Put it in a closet that has a light that I would keep on all the time. Then just left it like that to just water everyday. Would it work? I agree the weed would such and yield would be very low but would some kind of bud come? That would get you decently high if enough of it was smoked?

Dont worry I actually am not planning on doing this but just asking because im curious.

in order for cannabis to bud, one has to switch the lighting from a vegetive mode, ie, 24 hours of light a day, to a flowering mode, ie, 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness..
leaving the light on all the time, the plant would stay in veg mode forever and continue to grow and grow and grow, but never flower, and there for never grow any buds.

#1-- No-- because they need more than just water
#2-- No-- because you probably have the wrong light
#3-- No-- because you don't have fans or air exchange
#4-- No-- because (like he said) they have to go to 12/12 lighting to bloom and be smokable buds
#5-- No-- because you haven't secured the closet so there are no light leaks
#6-- No-- because you most likely have never grown and need to learn the basics and have all you need BEFORE you start!

So I guess the answer .... is NO! ;)

Yes you are right! I have never grown before but it will be something I will do in the future. Just a question tho, How often do you tend your plants? Like on average in a day?

You need to prepare yourself before you grow, else you are doomed to failure. Read books, search the internet and start when you feel ready. Zandra is on the basics. When that said you CAN grow really uber buds inside in a closet :)
Knowledge is power and in this case BUDS too.

when you first start growing, you will tend to your plants probably 100 times a day lol. i tend my plants every few days - to train new growth where i want it to go, pick off dead yellowed leaves, and to water/feed. but when you first start out and its new, you'll be like a protective mother with her newborn first child

Hah yeah I could see myself doing that! Im sure this question is answered elsewhere but on average for u, how much of a spike is there in your electricity cost?

Electricity costs are different everywhere and it also depends on the amount if watts you will be using for your lights and fams ettc.Watts times cost per kilowatt hour.You will find the cost per unit on your bill or just ring the power company.

Yeah its going to be very costly for me, like the power is 220 unlike the 110 in the states. One guy on here says he uses 2400w and it bill will range around 6000rs a month so a $120 spike.

It would cost about $100 every two months to run a 400w and a couple of fans here

I tend mine 2x a day.. am before the lights go off for the day in order to check for anything that may have happened during the night.. and again in the PM when the lights 1st come ON ... check for whether or not they need water etc..

If doing soil, I would suggest going with a "just add water" and "Top dress in flower" type soil... (PM me for more info)

Get a T5 light fixture that fits the closet...

get a small oscillating fan you can hang from the wall or ceiling for air movement...

find a place in the closet you can cut a hole for a 4" duct and fan for fresh air intake from a room nearby...

Find another spot up high where you can cut another hole for a passive air exhaust...

put weatherstripping all around the door-frame so it shuts TIGHT and has NO light leaking IN when the lights in the room are on- you WILL have to get inside to check!

Find out if you have everything you will need available to you easily....
