Yo Mike the plants arent to bad as a matter of fact we may share a common problem here.
i have a couple of plants outside in the groud that have suddenly stopped growing, the other day i dug next to 1 of the plants and i noticed that the bottom of the dirt like deep down is very heavy MUD kind of dirt. so now i have a drainage problem to deal with. "some else" is right i use nothing but peat moss in all my bucket grows and they love it, personally when i buy a bag i love running my hands thru the dirt it crumbles to the touch. look im high so ima cut to the chase....
1st of all post a new pic of your two new girl in their bigger pots so we can use it as a reference point.
2nd.invest in good dirt, take it as a lesson dirt should always be your first priority. the softer the dirt the easier it is for your roots to stretch out and grow. (avoiding a rootbound plant)
3rd. go outside and follow the suns path. east to west and notice any big trees that may cast a shadow for more then an hour or so and keep your plants in the suns path to ensure that they get 5or more hours of DIRECT sunlight.
4th. watering is kinda tricky i know its scary to think they may be thirsty but over watering is worse then not watering. let the dirt dry out really good before each watering. i like to dry out the dirt personally so the roots can use the air seeping inside the dirt and it encourages the roots to grow out in search for water. best rule of thumb is to pick up a dry pot and compare the weight to that of a wet pot so you knw when your pot is dry and needs water.
and last but not least stick with us mate were all hear to help
