about how much should you water ur seedling

?? i germinated them yesterday morning , then today this morning they had pretty big tap roots. and then i planted them in 1 cm down or so , and like barly watered them

and should i start my light cycle 24/0 to jump start them?

I also just germinated mine and put in soil.. i think the key is not to water them to much that they drown.. also that keeps the roots searching for more water (getting bigger longer) but not to underwater them that they dry up ya know.
 
so hmmm . can they die by not watering in one day? i mean i watered . just dont know how far the water went down the cup. you know.
 
its not gonna die by not wattern everyday.. i shouldn't water everyday but.. scence its a lil seedling not big roots i say if u stick ur finger bout an inch into the soil n its yet down there dont water..

they are not gonna die if you dont water them everyday, you just dont want them to be soaking wet just moist is the best deal.
 
Watering too much is a relative term. Watering too much too often is harmful. if your soil drains properly it is best for you to water til it is thoroughly wet meanin water is running from the bottom and wait for it to get dry again. This encourages healthy roots to have good cycles.
 
miggy420 u want to keep them wet but dont overwater. What i do is water just enough around the seedling to keep nice and moist, i dont drench the whole grow medium i only water when soil is close to dry . U also dont want to let soil dry out now because ur babies roots might dry out and that definitely isnt good. also whatever u do dont use any nutes at this stage of their life they have everything they need to grow and stay healthy. I use 1/4 strength nutes after 4 set of leaves. If you dont have holes in the bottom of those cups put some in there to let excess water run out or they are going to die from root rot. Take ur hand put it under those lights and make sure it isnt to hot if it is move lights up until u feel that its warm. Good luck with ur babies
 
thanks bro , for info . but i have miracle gro , is that bad? since you said no nutrients for the seedlings . but it has time released nutrients . ughhh ? is this going to be a problem . and i dont think it will be cause i have a friend that used with MG

yes any nutes especially right now is going to be a BIG problem .The seedlings have everything they need to grow (god put it there for them we have nothing to add at this point). Are u using MG soil or Mg mixed with water. I always use just plain soil in the beginning no added time released stuff needed, if ur using MG with ur watering its more than likely going to kill them.
 
so what do i do....i already planted them with mg . .. but i dont think it will kill them , and of course i water them. any suggestions?
 
its hard for me to say because ive never used MG soil and i dont want to steer u in the wrong direction, but if it were me i would go to Lowes?home Depot and look for plain soil or seedling starter soil (which i know they both carry) and CAREFULLY put seeds in that . U might want to wait for someone elses reply before u do that though they might have a better suggestion because im not sure on the advice. Once seed is planted it isnt a good idea to mess with it u dont want to hurt the taproot or shell at this point because it would be devestating to ur plants.
 
sorry that was a crap answer. lol , um just make sure that the soil is moist at all times. just use a small dixie cup when watering and the soil should be moist to the touch, but it shouldn't drip water when you squeeze it.
 
What is your relative humidity?

YOU ARN'T WATERING JUST YOUR PLANT YOU ARE WATERING YOUR MYCO HERD.

Water when dry and your thumbs will turn green, and I am not talking surface dry. In the beginning pushing your finger in the top is enough about an inch or two down.

After you transplant into your final pots you will want to check their drainage holes as well.
