About to start 6th week flowering

Hello everyone. Im writing concerning the "maturity" of the buds on my oldest girl. We are going into the 6th week on Wed. and I really don't think that the buds are as big as they should be . we are using miracle grow potting soil( only thing worth a damn around here, changing after this grow) 600 watt hps, flora nova bloom fert, temps are 80-85. Let me know what you think.

I personally think it looks damn nice for 5 weeks..goin on 6. She's yellowing up, for sure...and I'd say she's in the process of really starting to pack it on.

Do you know the strain?

Looks mostly sativa.
You may want to look up some info on sativa's.
They take a little longer to finish flowering.

I have a few smaller ones that are at 7 wks today.
You still have alot of white hairs.
The hairs will start turning red.

You should get some magnification.
Use the mag to check the trichomes.
You want to catch them when they are mostly amber in color.
The will go from clear to cloudy to amber.

they look nice! are you balancing your ph after adding nutes to the water? You could find that the nutes will feed the plant (roots) more effectively with a ph of 6.0-6.4 I had that trouble early on

otherwise great job!

wow! Thanks everyone. your comments make me feel a lot better. The strain is called spacequeen. It's deff. mostly sativa. we topped it early on so it wouldnt get much bigger. we feed it every other watering, we give it about 2 cc's. I followed the article from skunk on that one. I have the little magnifyer from radioshack actually. how long do you think it will be for her, maybe 9 weeks total? and i think the Ph is like 6.5

Based on the stamens still being ultra white, I'd say you have 3 or 4 more weeks at least.
what kind of lights are you using?
Man, be patient, as hard as it is, be patient!
Let those stamens change to reddish brown, let the triches get cloudy and the color of beer,
(Bud Light ! LOL)
and just wait, you will be glad you did.
Throw as much light on them as you can!

Oh I have nothing but time. we just ran out of our last harvest a couple weeks ago. and the first plant to be ready is space queen, then ak, then 2 hashberries.. its going to be wonderful! im using a 600 watt hps and about 4 cfls dropped to lower bud sites. so its ok to let them keep flowering over 9 weeks? Ive heard on some threads that Thc starts decomposing. is this true?

after a point in time, the thc does decompose or deteriorate. But that point in time can not or should not be measured by the calender.
With INDICA you have a 14 or 15 day window for harvest, for sativa, you have a larger window so don't worry about it.

It has started yellowing ALOT more on the older fan leaves. Is this supposed to happen?

The plants just running out of Nitrogen. Purpling stems and yellowing leaves. It's all completely normal. I am sticking to veg nutes for the first week and half of 12/12 to try to keep it green as long as I can this time, but I don't think the plant really requires much nitrogen late into flowering. It uses up it's reserves to pack on the weight for the buds, but it's not using to maintain life anymore. The plant is done growing.

Looks good to me, keep it up.

I think you meant stigmas turn brown, or Pistil(stigma, style and ovary), the stamen(anther and filament) is the male reproductive organ, I sure hope there is none on those sweet buds....:blsmoke:
