Ac infinity fans

A couple questions about the AC infinity 6" fan. I'm probably gonna need to use it on high setting I'm guessing. So is it still quieter than a hydrofarm green fan on high? Also can you put the fan directly on top of AC Infinity's carbon scrubber with no silver ducting inbetween them? In my current setup I have the carbon filter on the floor standing up and the inline fan right on top of it bc I use it in a 3x3 tent and the light is in the way.

Both products:
AC Infinity CLOUDLINE LITE A6, Quiet 6” Inline Duct Fan with Speed Controller, EC Motor - Ventilation Exhaust Fan for Heating Cooling Booster, Grow Tents, Hydroponics (amazon.com)

AC Infinity Air Carbon Filter 6" with Premium Australian Virgin Charcoal, for Inline Duct Fan, Odor Control, Hydroponics, Grow Rooms (amazon.com)

I have one of their oscillating fans, pretty nifty piece of kit. Need to get one of their inlines, I’m rocking an old style metal one rn and that bitch is loud even at its lowest setting, if it were about 1/2 as loud it’d be a nice white noise machine

Their 6 inch on higher setting is going to be much much louder than they false claim of 32db (32db is on lowest lol). The 6 inch housing is 147mm and most female connectors are gonna have a gap beetwen that. Mine two 6” whines unpleasently from level 3, its not something that havent happened to other customers. With silencer and filter i get ~50db on half setting, im not gonna guess how it sounds on higher levels without a silencer. The controller is great looking at the market but fans are cheaply plastic made and its a gamble to receive unit without defects. Mine units with my set up gets 30 db of white noise on level 3 but there is this whining at around 400hz which is 35-40db (checked with app with frequency chart real time multiple times). Im bitching here about their fan another time on forum but because i was greatly dissapointed with to loud units. Id rather spend more money and buy temp/normal variac and use td silent or centrifugal boxed fans. My other axial fans i own dont whine like that. If sound is not primary concern the controller is miles away from others

6 inch fan stacked on top of carbon filter with ac infinity sound reducer which really works well, especially reducing high frequency sound. No ducting required, it just exhausts out of the top of the tent20230220_090237.jpg

Highest I have mine on is setting 5. Anything past that and it's too loud. 5 should be plenty if you can control the environment the tent is in. I have the T6 though, not the A6.

So I should just get more hydro farm old metal fans. I've had them 7+ years and they are basically running 24/7. These infinity fans are cheap I take it then?? I would probably have to run them on high and I heard they are loud on high.

Also I’m using a Trolmaster will the AC Infinity be a good match or if not I believe the AC Infinity can hold its own weight with that controller
I’m looking for recommendations for a quality controller, as I am still building my room and want to get the right equipment. I currently have an iPower 400w HPS/MH with a @Spiderfarmerled 100w LED grow light on each side.

There is also an iPower 4” inline fan and carbon scrubber in the room; I goofed and got the wrong size, then waited too long to return it. I plan on upgrading to the AC Infinity fan and controller IF it will allow me to run both kinds of lights.

Btw I had an old Hurricane 6” inline fan from Hydrofarm about 20 years ago, and that thing was fairly quiet. The fan didn’t make much noise, but you could hear air whooshing through the scrubber.

Yes the filter will slot straight in to the exhaust fan. But what you can do is move both outside of the tent, you just flip the fan around so it's sucking rather than blowing. That way nothings in the tent and you are not wasting any floor space in your 3x3.

This is mine, as you can see the only thing in the tent is a bit of ducting and the exhaust and carbon filter are outside the tent pulling the air out. In summer it's sucking from the top to remove heat, then in winter i will move the ducting in to the port at the floor so it's sucking out cold air from the floor which pulls the warm air from the top of the tent down.
