Ac is 230v?

Can't I just wire it with a 30amp double pole breaker with #6/8 on 110? I'm under the impression that 208/230 has a range of voltage so at 220 would work fine?

If the ac is a 220v ac like 18000 btu or higher you have to wire it as 220v its a either 110v or 220v yes you can wire a 110v outlet as 220 but there is something to know first. It must be the only thing on that circuit so just because you want that outlet 220 doesnt mean its not wired to other outlets. Then you move the neutral over to your new breaker. If you are unsure or not clear ask an electrician yes it may cost you a little but better than saying OOPS later and having a fire.

Ok guys. Let me say i ve done all my wiring to date. I'm very familiar with 110/220. I feel confident in my capabilities and so should you lol...

Now with that being said, this movincool 60 unit says it runs on 208/230. To my understanding 208/230 is just a variable voltage between 208 and 230 volts. So why can't I just wire it up to a double pole breaker on 110v? The only reason I can think of is because it requires the voltage to be on a single phase. So am I wrong? I want to know before I buy it. Thanks.

just wire it up to NEC code and you'll be fine. if not and you have a fire, insurance will deny your claim.

I'm an electrician, and what you are trying to do will work fine. You'll be putting in either a 2 pole 20 amp breaker or a 2 pole 30, depending on how big the unit is, but the instructions will say what it needs. Just make sure you use the appropriate wire size for the breaker you install.

If it's the movincool office pro 60 it calls for a 50 amp circuit.
