Ac problem....please help

I bought a 12.300 btu samsung window AC to cool my grow tent......the grow tent is 4x8x6.5........The ac will kick on for 1 minute and then shut of for a few , and it just keeps cycling that way.....I know for sure its not a faulty unit because its my second one of the same kind....is there anything I can do to get the damn thing to stay on......Thanks

Set the thermostat lower on the A/C? Sometimes you have to set the thermostat lower then the desired temperature to actually keep your grow room at the temperature you want because the thermostat is on the A/C and that will get colder than the other side of the room.

i already tried that and no results......if i open up the tent and the door to my grow room it runs like a dream, but as soon as i seal up that tent it starts acting up.....im trying to keep everything as sealed as possible because i am going to run co2...this is the second ac ive done this with and both show the same results

Do you have a thermostat in the room? Is it keeping the room at the temperature you want? That is a huge A/C for a 4x8 room. May only need to run very little.

no because the compressor will not stay on longer than 2 minutes.....thats the whole problem.....im running 2600 watts and need this amount of ac...

If you have a window A/C in a tent is it vented at all. Window A/C's are meant to hang in the window. That could be your problem. Could have something to do with negative pressure. Maybe you can return it for a portable one.

thanks everyone for your help, but i mastered the machine last night.....just 1 little modification and it runs liike a dream.....
