Accidentally flowering plant

Why did they get 36hrs dark if they were getting 24hours light? I'm lost.

Don't tell me you're gunna flush, drill holes in the stem and keep them in the darkness for 72hrs before harvest as well.

That's the question I think we are all wondering, 36 hrs of darkness, but getting 24 hrs of light.
