ACMPR Grow Room Build Log

Lighting contact box working mint. Very happy with this. I think everyone should know about this an alternative to 220V timers as this box can be run off any 110V outlet and can run almost any size lighting system for a lot less than say Trolmaster a RS Expander which is just a 40amp relay with 4 outlets triggers off a 120V line.

Added some penetrations for dehumidifer drains, controller wiring (telephone cables) and one spare that I will ah w there plugged up for future or emergency use.


Set up the CO2 bottle with the Titan control valve and ran some line, need to extend it a little to make it to the centre of the room. Titan controls shows centre of the room to be the recommended release spot for the CO2. So the question is do I put the CO2 sensor as far away as possible from the emission location? Would like to hear some opinions. My buddy who use one big 8 burner CO2 emitter found the plant directly around the emitter did better.


Also caulked the tops and bottoms of all the door trim and baseboards then painted over everything.

Last couple items now buy some dehumidifiers, run a dehumidifier control circuit, get planters or trays. And start growing.

I was originally decided on organic planters but after some consideration I'll keep it simple for a couple run just using Jack 321 or something.

Far away and at eye level ish.

Got the ducting in and out of the room and all carbon filters and fans hung.


Made these telephone cables to connect up the lights.


Two lights connected with few phone cable as a test. They are dimming off the Trolmaster here.


The plastic line that came with the CO2 valve is pretty stiff and hangs all curly like. I wanted it to hang straight so I made this for a bit of fun.

When I first setup my room I used the same mini split.
Keep watch at the valves at the unit .
They start to leak ,
TBH they are a piece of shit .
I switch it out for something with a 10yr warranty after it shit the bed .
Might not need with leds , but you should have a controller to shut the lights off if it gets to hot , when the cheap mini dies .

Are these the valves you are talking about? Will keep a look out.



The unit was hard to beat for price.
And yes I do have a controller to dim the lights if it gets too hot. I also got the smoke detector for the controller lol

Price pre btu is why I bought that unit ! But it bit me in the ass .
That’s where the problem started .

When the unit tells you to Fuck off , look for one with a 10yr warranty.

This one has 5 years. If it makes it that long for the price she will have done more than her job hahah. How long did yours last?

Hey man thanks for taking a look. Ya the room is all done. Been vegging in it for like 1-2weeks now. Just getting the environment dialed now. Hope to start flowering soon.

I used the bridgelux eb gen 3 slims 4ft strips. Fixtures are 40x48 almost. They use 4 Thomas research prices drivers using 28 strips total running at nominal current. The fixtures only rose 1-2 degrees above ambient. Very cool running. So different to HID lighting.

Right now they are running at 750W. But will get up to 800W with some 660nm I plan to add after a cycle.

Guess that's the end of this thread. Will probably start a journal soon.

Love your DIY Bridgelux Fixture build & very nicely detailed journals!

I was curious & tried to compare Thomas Research drivers to Mean Well drivers by a web search, but I can not find any reference info comparing them.

Why did you go with thomas research? What kind of warranty do they have?
Do you have an opinion on which is best performing TR or MW drivers?

Hey thanks my dude.

They seemed to be a well regarded brand when I searched around on the internet. Sub company of Hubble plus they do horticulture led strips as well.

They are high efficiency 92% and I got them for $20/ea. They had a Good waterproof rating (I took one apart and they are just filled with silicone entirely). And 1-10v dimming. If I was buying drivers at full price I'd go for a meanwell with 0-10v dimming I think that's ones that are 320w+.

I just picked up some 150W LG innotek drivers wanna try a Samsung build. Got the 48V so I wanna so 2ft 44.6V Samsung double row strips. Also has the 1-10V dimming.

Build quality seems equal IMO. But I haven't run any meanwell for months or anything to compare.

If more TRP drivers became available at a good price I wouldn't hesitate to buy more. They've worked perfect so far. I think they have 5 year warranty but don't quote me.

The Trolmaster controller dims through the telephone ports I wired to the dim - and dim + wires. Purple and grey usually. I use the gavita adapter called the LMa 14 adapter. Going to install another Trolmaster system at my buddies on actual gavita 1K de with the 0-10v. Same adapter. Gavita uses a standard lighting 0-10v protocol. So the Trolmaster uses the same generic one and so do most led drivers. But always check the data sheet they will tell you what you need.

Omg the dimming thing made me waste a lot of time and stuff figuring it out. But I gotta admit I am so fucking happy I did this. This way I don't have to dim individual fixtures to the right intensity. Just go in the app change the % boom it's done. I am really pleased with how it works.

With this diagram wired to the driver. Worked perfect. And just uses two rj11 ports per fixture so I could daisy chain to the next light
