PBS was set to do a documentary on our government's endorsement of torture...but pressure from above (federal funding) is causing them to delay it until January 21, 2009, or later. Interesting coincidence, that date.
Lets see Bongulator
A terrorist is caught after announcing he planted nuclear weapons in NYC.
What do you do?
Well, Liberalists want us to ask Ahmed, "Ahmed, would you like a prayer rug, and a compass, and a cigarette? How about a Koran?"
Conservatives want us to put panties on Ahmed's head, while forcing him to stand up for prolonged periods of time and managing his diet. Then they might move on to making him listen to Christina Aguilera. If those don't work to get him to talk we waterboard him.
What is waterboarding?
Water boarding is simply the act of dripping water on some one, or using a towel that's been soaked in water to make them think they are downing.
So, you know, in a perfect world, Ahmed, our would be nuclear terrorist, would probably respond to the Liberalis, by saying, "Oh, well jeez, maybe these people aren't so bad, I'll tell them where the nukes are."
Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world, and we have to keep in mind that the terrorists are clinically insane.
So, short of the Christina Aguilara music, I don't see anything wrong with the "torture" methods used to get the information we want.
Then again, if Ahmed the Terrorist had planted nukes in NYC I wouldn't see anything wrong with dragging him behind a moving vehicle, chopping off a few limbs, and branding him with hot pokers like Al Qaida would do to our captured soldiers, before they move on to decapitation.
