Active Aqua Grow Flow 5 gal System w/Controller Unit & 3/4" Tubing

Anyone used this system? It looks like it addresses all of the common Ebb and grow bucket system short comings such as:

3/4" drain tubing as apposed to 1/2"
5 gallon buckets vs 2.5 gallon
elevated buckets to promote drainage
center drains to eliminate pooling at the bottom of the buckets

There is almost always something wrong with these systems but i'm not seeing it with this one. Can this actually be a plug and play kit that will work? I'm curious to hear from anyone that has run it.

I'd say get the sentinels mef1 if you're going to get any of these types of systems.

The sentinel and the Aqua system are essentially identical. Only the sentinel is more expensive, comes with less buckets and no resivior. It has a couple neat alarm features but so does the aqua flow. Not seeing the value at all.

how did the Aqua system turn out...im looking to get one as well and and trying to narrow down the differnty ones out there based on the same factors as stated above...im looking for 36 to 48 site

Haven't fired it up yet. The grow will begin around feb 1

I Made my own bucket based off the active aqua but i used 3.5 gallon buckets and a 5 gallon main bucket. Im also using 3/4 " lines. I got 12 sites and another one i built has 24. The main thing with adding more plants is having the resovoir to hold that much water. If your not limited to space then get a giant rez and go crazy. I bought all the shit to make my bucket for under 100 bucks too so thats always a bonus.

When i first wanted to build my bucket i couldnt find much info on how to build them but i came across a forum that guided me step by step. Its a bit of work but if u wanna save money its worth it. I bought a single pole double throw timer with 15 minute intervals and then i ordered about 15 electronic float valves from china. They were like $1.25 each but they took 3 weeks to get to me :( then you need to buy a project box. Radioshack sells them under 10 bucks. And the last main things are two doublepole double throw relays. I can find links if anyones interested but there also at radioshack. 10 bucks each in store so you might just order em.

You only use 4 float valves per bucket. I got extra because i built a few. If anyone wants to know how to build it i can dig up the instructions step by step. Maybe ill make my own how to for it if enough people are interested.
